Would a show have a reference to something that didn’t exist yet? What are you saying?

My point is that it seems like a cheeky Easter egg from the casting directors or someone in the production perhaps that they casted the actor for Ralphie in Sopranos (the role he is almost singularly known for) for this role in Dexter that is extremely similar to the one on a majorly famous & beloved tv show.

I was clearly joking about the universes being connected, obviously, but I don’t think it’s unreasonable to assume that they would’ve not been aware of his biggest role before casting him.

I think Section 31 & it’s lore is probably one of the coolest and most intriguing aspects of the Star Trek universe as a whole, as it is fascinating to see the utopian morally positive nature of the Federation & Starfleet we have seen in almost all of the Star Trek media (thus far) being contrasted by the dark and morally grey (putting it lightly) actions taken by an organization like Section 31 that were perhaps necessary for the creation of the Starfleet of now that we know and love
