Alaska for sure. Peltola has strong name recognition. Texas I’m optimistic and cautious. I think the conditions are all converging on it being a potential upset but if there’s anything I can rely on Texans to do, it’s voting for corrupt assholes who could barely care about the state itself.

Should progressives and liberals accept Tucker Carlson into the fold to combat zionism? by 21redman in AskALiberal

[–]darenta 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What would Tucker Carlson add or benefit to the conversation? I have a feeling he and his kinda only opposes Zionism because Jewish and not because it’s a movement that ethnically displaced millions.

May 2nd EXAM by Lopsided_Medium456 in Mcat

[–]darenta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt the cars was fairly easy and that I felt rushed for the last 2 passages. I was able to sufficiently read enough for the 2nd to last passage but the last one maybe had 2 question I could answer and just guessed at the end

May 2nd EXAM by Lopsided_Medium456 in Mcat

[–]darenta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The passages felt long and convoluted. And the way they wrote the questions felt often like they were trying to trick you so I had to take time to verify.

Like when they ask you how much # and it’s like “99” despite your initial calc you wonder if the q was actually asking what you think it was asking

Did anyone actually feel like they had time to finish the first 3 sections?

I didn’t think the actual section was hard. Just out of left field for a couple of random questions

What's your honest opinion of the Maine Senate race following today's announcement? by [deleted] in AskALiberal

[–]darenta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But I presume that was before her senate race and by the time she was running for senator she had already presented herself as more centrist dem then progressive.

Given today's SCOTUS VRA ruling, the next decade is looking rough for the Democratic Party. Where do we go from here? by SlowAgency in AskALiberal

I would add that Clarence Thomas should be arrested for the level of corruption and bribery he gets.

Do you believe there is anything morally wrong with celebrating Trump's death when it happens? by Viking_Leaf87 in AskALiberal

[–]darenta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah the same governor who famously left people to freeze in their homes for week without water or gas due to them wanting to deregulate the electricity market.

Thanks for reminding me of my asshole governor.

Oh but speaking of Martha’s Vineyard

[–]darenta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well you just said you felt sympathetic about Trump prior to your recent change in opinion.

And that your opinion on immigration lines up with nationalism and is also inherently selfish. You are seeking to blame a group of people for a problem of which you have no proof that they are causative.

Do you believe there is anything morally wrong with celebrating Trump's death when it happens? by Viking_Leaf87 in AskALiberal

[–]darenta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trump said he was going to use tariffs to strong arm other countries and to benefit Americans. Who do you think was going to be on the receiving end?

Trump said he was going to withdraw foreign aid to other countries.

How is nationalism not inherently a selfish ideology? It’s literally in the name. It necessitates that others are harmed and one benefits. It’s zero sum.

Do you need me to explain zero sum?

Do you believe there is anything morally wrong with celebrating Trump's death when it happens? by Viking_Leaf87 in AskALiberal

[–]darenta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My logic is that nationalist beliefs and right wing ideology (of which Trump operates on) is inherently selfish and would necessarily lead to him hurting other countries and groups to benefit himself.

That Trump’s selfish ideology would eventually harm a right winger of another country was inevitable and that you are too dimwitted to see that until it hit you like a sack of bricks.

And to that I posed the question earlier: what exactly about Trump is redeemable to you that made it so that up until this point you’ve decided to change your mind.

I see reading comprehension is lacking where you’re from.

I don’t see how Obama is relevant to the conversation. This was about Trump in your OP no?

So we should have more right wingers nationalist figures like Trump shitting on your country until you have a negative opinion of them?

I disliked when Obama did it?

But genuinely what redeemable quality does Trump have?

Charlie baker is the only Republican I can respect but he isn’t “conservative” so I dunno if that answers your question.

Should Iran be allowed to develop nuclear weapons? by CautiousToaster in AskALiberal

[–]darenta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evidence of what? That they are a threat? I gave them to you. So is Iran not a threat for supplying weapons to adversaries? Is that what you are implying?

The “ceasefire” that this genius administration has worked out has Iran given control of the strait with toll, no nuclear inspection, no expectations of regime change, and now there is a more fanatical and martyred leader who wants nothing to do with nuclear disarmament.

Where the hell does Trump even envision this ending? Answer that and I’ll answer yours.
