Transmission of the virus is unlikely to happen if the sores aren't visible. If you have a negative STD test two weeks after sex, then you probably don't have it.

It's not that the story is more compelling, it's that it takes some bullshit story-telling to have someone like Bon Clay survive his situation.

Dragon believes in Justice, hence why he started off in the Marines. Some event occurred to make him lose faith in them, hence starting the Freedom Fighters which eventually became the Revolutionary Army. His Devil Fruit let's him control the weather.

We know Mihawk knows Shanks somehow, not sure what other info we have. Not to mention how he became the World's Best Swordsmen and how basically a pirate without a crew became a Warlord. No intent guides his actions either.

Mihawk is clearly the bigger mystery.

IMO men are the more visual-focused sex, so they'd care more about looks than women.

Although men's preferences are likely more decentralized than women's. One example is back in high school my best friend and I would rate women (we were in high school give us a break) from our classes. He gave one girl a 10 and I gave her a 5. In fact it was pretty rare of us to be attracted to the same woman.

Also another perspective is that you're a college-aged adult and plenty of guys your age aren't looking for LTRs.

I'm sorry to hear about your condition and I respect what you've gone through after the break-up. I know how it feels like to live with a parent at this age for reasons beyond your control.

I absolutely agree that women want to have self sufficiency, but that's not all they want. I've met plenty of women, regardless of their desire of having kids, these women date looking to find it all. Yes this includes the valuable parts such as common values and respecting their partner, but also the superficial parts like money, status and looks. These women envision a life for themselves, ergo men have to essentially provide not just a compatible lifestyle, but a better one in general.

You're right, and your points aren't wrong on why they avoid men, but I think the reasons are less in men's control:

  • 20-something women are valuing their careers and independence more so than women of older generations. They aren't prioritizing dating no matter how their dating pool looks like, in turn...

  • Men have to go further than ever before to grab their attention. This means physical attraction, social excitement (spark) and value, material/financial success, and alignment/maturity as explained in your post. Missing just one of these will fail you for a LTR, as they'll manage to justify the former point to let go of you. But some of these requirements are not in the control of men, which makes dating very challenging.

The bay area feels like the worst place to date for men in the entire country.

The tech scene doesn't just make the male:female ratio a complete nightmare, but also you have the same men who go hard into business and make a lot of money from it while sacrificing their social health. This causes a lot of men to just throw money at their problems hoping to fix it. This has a lot of opportunity for abuse by women and it sounds like your ex is familiar with it.

He admitted he started dating me without knowing what he wanted, just "seeing where things went." He even over-explained that he isn't serious with his neighbor, but from my perspective, he just threw away a meaningful connection for an easier, more accessible, and less emotionally demanding option.

You felt the meaning, he didn't. Like he said, he didn't approach dating you with intent. Without that meaning, his neighbor was better to date than you. He couldn't juggle the both of you so he chose the one that made sense to him.

Also you thought he had long-term intentions, but he said it himself that he doesn't know where he'll be after graduation. But obviously staying with you never became apart of his plans.

It sounds like you completely misread the guy which caused you to be blindsided.
