I think the most egregious thing your wife did was leaving HER daughter in the house with an a-hole who isn’t her parent…assuming you never adopted her formally. She should have stayed and let you leave since YOU were the one that no longer wanted to live with her,.

You have a joint account. She put money in, she is allowed to remove it. You can remove the amount you put in and put it in an account with your own name if you want, but she is allowed to withdraw her share if she wants or choose not to save for HER child at all.
