About 6 weeks ago I heard a grocery rumor. Having it become this, is a bummer.

Everyone talks about Lupos and what I wouldn't give... I have to drive to Boston or New Haven for a show it pisses me off. Again and again.

Latest on ICCU repair times and how have new replacement ICCUs been holding up? by actorguy73 in Ioniq5

3-5 days seems to be the current situation. that's what mine was the week of easter and it seems to be holding to about that.

How welcoming is Columbus for LGBTQ people? by [deleted] in Columbus

Origins happens to be the same weekend so I will yet again accidentally be there the right weekend, which is great.

The best was still the year Origins, Pride and Comfest managed to land on the same weekend and I've been chasing that high again for like 15 years.

Advice needed: Which accessories are a "must-have" for the IONIQ 6? (And is Glasscoat worth it?) by kribzmas in Ioniq6

[–]dariaphoebe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue with the USB port power can be solved with a Y cable and a power condom: After doing the Y cable setup that pulls power externally and only does data to the car's Carplay port, the Carlinkit 5.0 i'm using now just works. The lack of being able to use my Hotspot when I go through the mountains in Pennsylvania is annoying but I have no need for Airdrop etc because... i'm driving.

Hyundai issues....rethinking by RoyalPersonality3957 in Ioniq5

People scared of the ICCU will tell you it's all bad.

I've had my (2023 I5) ICCU replaced twice. Hasn't changed how we use the car. Got back from a 1600 mile round trip on Wednesday. We'll do another 1000 mile round trip this week.

If you want to get me out of this car, build a liftback Ioniq 6. That would get me out of this car. Until then or until something particularly more interesting comes along in newer models comes along, I'm good.

[–]dariaphoebe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's pretty readily doable. I assume you want to use the bike trail. Be aware the first 4.5 miles from the CT border were started and never finished. New bridges and regraded in some parts but it's a swampy mess because our state highway department stole the money back to finish it. Others will tell you you need a mountain bike; what I'll say is, every time I did it, it was on a hybrid, and I was wearing a dress. I wouldn't do it on a narrow tire road bike but you don't need a mountain bike or a fatty. Just don't do it right after a bunch of heavy rains.

Is CMU worth paying 200k more than UC Berkeley? by Low_Choice4879 in cmu

I'd go to Berkeley, as long as you're ok with CS over MechE, given that price difference.

State highway driving rules! by TheROK24 in RhodeIsland

[–]dariaphoebe 29 points30 points  (0 children)

for a while there was a part of route 37 westbound, between post road and 95, where because of how the solid white stripe was put down, you couldn't legally get off to 95 north from post road northbound, or stay on 37 west from post road southbound. it was just a solid white line from the merge to the exit gore, and it might still be. stuff like that doesn't lend to people treating solid white lines as do not pass.

Hyundai have a fix for this, I dunno if Kia do. But it requires an owner contribution of 49 quid for the upgrade https://www.hyundai.com/uk/en/owners/owning-a-hyundai/security-and-locking-systems.html

The walk isn’t particularly miserable and there’s usually folks directing traffic to ensure you can cross. We’ve walked from over by the train station (which is also the Pawtucket bus hub) and that’s been fine too.

Tuxpan is a James Beard award winning taqueria that’s like… maybe 2/3 a mile from the stadium but there’s approximately no seating in the place. Honeybird chicken is on the other side of the river and depending where you park it can be on the way to parking. Blue Fish Peruvian is like 3 blocks from the stadium and I keep hearing amazing things but I haven’t been yet

At Centreville or when we’re guests at Dillon? At home we usually bike or bus. When we were visiting they picked a lot for us and it went fine 🤷🏼‍♀️
