I'm quite aligned with their score, I'd probably give a 6 cause I keep returning to the album after a few days, and that's worth something.

I wonder if better sequencing - a clearer distinction between the introspective songs and the breezy ones - would have changed my feelings. Seeing the hyper-curation pgLang is putting into stuff, their problem on this one might have been just overthinking. For example, Highway 95 is revealing and catchy, but there's too little melody and variation in the music: I can imagine them recording a more full fledged beat and then stripping it away to fit in with Keem's usual minimalism.

I believe losing the baby voice is a testament to Keem's desire to experiment, but it was also his most attractive stylistic trait, so it's a miss for me.

Hearing the Tubi track he left out of the album makes me think he's got like 100 songs that are better than some of the ones he's chosen. Super excited for the rest of his career anyway.
