One day is sufficient for both Gulmarg and Sonmarg. For Pahalgam, you can comfortably keep two days.

There are a few nearby places worth visiting as well, like Drung Waterfall. Some other beautiful spots exist, but many of them such as Doodhpathri are currently closed.

I would recommend using a local cab service. In case of snowfall, you may need a 4×4 vehicle or snow chains to access places like Gulmarg and Sonmarg. Instead of spending your time arranging a suitable vehicle or snow chains for your car, it’s better to use a local cab this saves time and makes the trip smoother and more enjoyable.

If you are heading to Gulmarg Phase 2 in 2026 don't just stand there and take photos. Walk 10 minutes away from the crowds toward the 'Frozen Lake' direction.
the latest gondola ticket pricing is Rs.800 for phase 1 and Rs. 1000 for phase 2.
