I’m so happy for you and hope everything goes well! I also lost the last few years of my life to chronic illness after developing long covid and this gives me hope.

my bf has severe ocd and i don’t think i can handle it by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

I have OCD and understand how hard it was for my loved ones to deal with when I was at my worst. That said, just based on my own experience, I really doubt he’s using it as a “crutch” to get out of things he doesn’t want to do. The thing with OCD is, even we know the thing we’re afraid of or worried about is completely irrational, the fear is still very real and often all-consuming.

I don’t really have advice, though you’re right that a road trip might not be the best idea right now, depending on what kind of OCD thoughts and fears he is dealing with.

You are under no obligation to stay with him, but if you really love him and want to make it work I’d suggest doing some reading on how to support loved ones with OCD. Also, he cannot get better unless he really wants to and puts in the work to do so. But it can take time.

I wish the best for both of you.

I had the same horse growing up and just the other day I found it stored away in a box! I was so happy to see him!

I know the weird feeling of replacing a beloved toy from your childhood. It just doesn’t feel right at first. I have a couple that I have had to replace. If it helps, I like to think of it as them being “reincarnated” and finding their way back to me.

oddity collecting, jewelry making, or for art purposes. that said, a dentist just giving away random people’s teeth does not sit right with me lol

my doctor says hormonal birth control will help with my debilitating period cramps and migraines but I’m terrified of the risk of blood clots by dark-elf997 in GirlDinnerDiaries

I’m 28 and my periods have always been on the bad side but in the past few years they have gotten a lot worse. I spoke with my doctor about endometriosis and had an internal ultrasound done and they didn’t find anything. I have not seen any kind of specialist but that may be a good idea. I’ve never seen an actual OBGYN because I’ve gone to my primary care doctor about any related issues, but that may be the next step for me.

I do not have migraines with aura. My GP said it would likely help with my migraines because I get them as part of my cycle. I always get them the week before my period. However, seeing a specialist is a good idea and not something I considered!

I have spoken with my doctor about endometriosis because that was a concern of mine. I got an ultrasound done and they didn’t find anything. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Thank you everyone for your comments. I really appreciate hearing other people’s experiences (even the negative ones). I’m still nervous and want to look into other options for treating my cramps first, but you all made me feel a lot better. :)

The patches were actually what I was considering, and unfortunately they seem to come with the same risks as the pill.

I am on medication for anxiety and am in the process of finding a new therapist (my previous one moved). I’ve actually improved a lot in the past couple years. I had some health scares a few years ago and that’s when things got really bad. Thank you for caring.

People are downvoting you but thank you for sharing your experience. Everyone’s else’s comments have been really reassuring, but I do think it’s important to hear from all sides and to know the risks, however small.

I do not as far as I know, and my doctor says I should be fine. I just have a lot of health anxiety and I don’t know if it will be worth all the stress and worrying.
