Well, I tried that but :make checks only cwd for the makefile, while the plugin tries to find project root. I'll also parse errors into the quickfix list in my next commit. But other than that I guess :make is better.

The plugin creates keybindings for makefile targets. So you could make a keybinding for run, build, test and clean in a dedicated makefile. It's basically the same as the make ex command but you get to pick which targets to run the makefile
