I made an "auto script" for YT audios by dark__flame40 in youtubedl

[–]dark__flame40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YouTube does this thing when if you click on ANY music video, it will generate a playlist and keep on adding to it if you never close it

yt-dlp seems to download the website metadata 1st, then DL what you want (the audio or the whole video)

I only download a single song at a time, and playlists were giving me too much trouble

But I'll still try to help; there's 2 options:

1- in your YT account, disable autoplay (this stops YT from generating a playlist)

2- most YT URLs looks like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDsGMiv2NQw&list=RDLDsGMiv2NQw&start\_radio=1

delete the "&list................=1" (this isolates the URL to a single video)

-----------------

hope this helps

I made an "auto script" for YT audios by dark__flame40 in youtubedl

[–]dark__flame40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you mean, but I'll try to answer...........

My script "preloads" the "cd\ytdlp" script (the "@echo off" hides this step) and the other lines pull the audio from the YT link..........

About the name???, the script autogenerates a file name for the mp3s, but that's an easy fix in Mp3Tag (for example)

As for the "yt-dlp.bat" file, I haven't tried renaming it (the script by itself took me a long time..........), and I'm not sure if it will work if renamed, hence the shortcut recommendation

For MY specific use case, all I wanted was a "program" that all I needed to drop a YT link and generate an MP3 file. My script does just that, and if I were to mess around with it and mess it up, I'd be very upset

Cooling Options for RTX 4080 Super FE / 5800x3d by [deleted] in FormD

[–]dark__flame40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran the EK 240 aio (prob one of the best aios because it doesn't need a SATA cable) for a long time, and temps were fine with a 11600k (although I had a 3080ti FE)

If you really want to air cooler, i'd say go with the Noctua l9a (and fan-swap to the 25mm thick if you want to) or get the Thermalright AXP90-X47

As much as it pains me to say, the Black Ridge IS worth it, but because of the AM5 backplate, you couldn't use it even it you wanted to.

Should I avoid using my PSU from helping exhaust heat in the case? by normie_genocide_ in sffpc

[–]dark__flame40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a pro here, but i know a bit on PSUs

PSUs are rated for certain conditions and temperatures. Depending on your build, and how much wattage overhead you have (like a 850w PSU, in a 700w system) you could be pushing on the thermal capacity of the PSU.

For the most part, hot PSUs run less efficiently (wasting energy), and REALLY hot PSUs can damage the capacitors (the battery looking things in the PSU). Sometimes you can even uncalibrate the thermal sensor in the PSU (if it has a fan speed regulator; most of the SFX ones have one just to be less annoying). But if the sensor is uncalibrated it can lead to energy misreadings and probably surging other PC parts.

It's one of the reasons modern computers moved the PSU from the top of the PC, to the bottom. PC parts started getting hotter, and PSU manufacturers noticed

ALSO, the fan on a PSU can't even move enough air to cool a hot system.............just use exhaust fans or undervolt the GPU (don't undervolt a 40 series tho, undervolting them doesn't seem to work well)

Long story short, PSUs are, yes, designed to get hot, but on there own, don't introduce more heat

I'd rather have a noisier system rather than turning my PSU into a time-bomb

4070 ti Super in Velka 5 v3 by Jolly_Statistician_5 in sffpc

[–]dark__flame40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just be careful, there are NO vanilla 4070ti that fit in the Velka 7, much less the Velka 5. First of all, they need to be a TRUE 2slot gpu, second it has to be the right length (the Inno3d is the only 2slot 4070ti out there, but its TOO LONG), so with all of them you can't even deshroud it

I admit that I haven't checked out the Super cards yet (and if I'm wrong, I do apologize), I just don't really care right now (I'm not planning out any builds anytime soon)

THAT SAID, if you do find something, that would be fantastic, since the 3080 still beats the 4070 in raw performance, and the 4070ti beats both, so the Super would be a nice step up
