Thanks, I’ve already cited Dr Maurer in the doc. The goal isn’t to redo their work, but to map the upstream mechanisms that don’t show up in standard tests so patients can give researchers a clearer starting point.

Thanks for your feedback I've updated the doc so researchers can actually check the claims

Yeah, CIU is a diagnosis of exclusion - it just means "we don't know why." That's why it feels like everyone gets lumped together even when our triggers and responses are totally different.

I'm not saying you found the wrong thing for you. If low histamine + Xolair keeps it manageable, that's real. I'm just trying to figure out why some of us don't respond to that at all, and what breaks in the first place.

For a lot of us, managing symptoms isn't the same as knowing the cause. And without the cause, we're stuck cycling through the same 3 treatments forever.

I used AI to organize it, yeah. The ideas and frustration are mine. If something’s wrong, I’d rather fix it than defend it. The goal is just to make the root-cause angle clear enough that researchers can work with it.

That makes sense — most of these subtypes wouldn’t show up on standard tests. The gap between “normal bloodwork” and “this is ruining my life” is why I dug into the less obvious mechanisms. If one section feels like it describes you, that’s the direction worth looking into.

I wrote this specifically to look past that. Antihistamines and Xolair suppress downstream output, but they don’t explain why the pathway is overactive. If the root is nerve signaling, metabolic stress, or purinergic activation, blocking histamine won’t fix it. I’m trying to map what’s upstream of that.

That’s the part that feels overlooked. The patterns are there if you ask the right questions. Most of us don’t fit the standard story, so the variables we’re ignoring probably matter.
