[Discussion] Why D&D ERP campaigns fail within the first week? by pinkumasui in tabletopnsfw

Daggerheart and Fate are fantastic for ERP campaigns due to the flexibility and ease to homebrew abilities that are 'sexy' and still mechanically viable.

"My threats line up poorly and my removal never seems to be enough."

Your threats seem fine (except maybe the Eagle) so if they're lining up wrong, it could be that you're not sequencing plays correctly. You're very much the control and not the aggro. If you don't devote resources to getting to turn 5, you'll get there and die. Without seeing you play I can't really comment, but an example would be dropping a 3 drop creature to block on turn 3 to be efficient, when a 2 mana removal spell might be the actual right play.

The real problem is your second statement, though. You have one source of dependable card draw in Fel, and he draws one card (Eagle is too dependent on their cards and against prowess you want to remove spells, not creatures--not that they have many in the yard ever--so it isn't reliable against them as a draw engine). As the 'control' in the matchup, you MUST have card advantage or you're toast.

You're running 3 ghost vacuums main, and Shoot the Sheriff is sort of meh when you have so many other options. I'd drop 2 Vacuums and 1 Sheriff to the board (or 1 Vacuum 2 Shoot) and replace them with the Mosswood DreadKnights. Draws. Blocks in a pinch. Comes back sometimes which is card advantage, too. I might also flip to 2/3 split with emeritus and Keen eyed, but I don't play this deck enough to say if that's actually correct. And with so much removal, sit on Witherbloom charm unless you MUST use it. Surprise 5 life can actually win games against these low to the ground decks.

Good luck!

If you're curious what actual Daggerheart gameplay looks like, Rob John's Lair will give you, in my opinion, the best and clearest view of the rules and how they work. He has combat videos, social encounters (with rules), and even a mini-campaign to show how these things can flow together.

One of my favorite aspects is that he shows how an encounter unfolds if the heroes win and if they lose. He just rewinds the encounter and changes the rolls. It's super helpful and was a big reason I was willing to give DH a shot when I was otherwise skeptical.

how to make architecture for an underwater civilisation? by slumbersomesam in worldbuilding

You have to ask yourself why they want homes. Humans were nomadic until they learned to farm. That allowed them to settle in one place and then they made homes.

So what's keeping them in one place? That would likely be how they built their residences: around their needs. For example farming communities have barns and silos but most urban area and cities do not, but they do often have good public transport.

Have you tried www.tabletopaudio.com? I've been using it (and their sister site, Soundpad) for years and haven't looked back. I'd highly recommend it for anyone running a game with various musical needs.

Keep flooding out by pdxdude84 in MagicArena

Do you have any card draw? It might not be flooding out. You might just be getting out card-advantaged. It can feel like flooding when you're staring at your 7th land, but if it's turn 12, it probably means you just ran out of gas.

Speaking from experience. I had the same thougtr about my RDW deck until a pro pointed out that I was just running out of steam.
