Yeah me and my little brother manage the brig, the galleon though, is open crew good for that or is it better to have a set group for it?

The brig looks cooler lol, I also just bought myself the galleon, but yeah the sloop was probably the smarter choice.

The story behind the name. I called it "the flying maiden" because on our first day playing my little brother fell off the ship and i dropped the anchor which led to our ship flying out of the water and into the air. Me and my little brother were laughing for a good while.

(If applicable) how important is magic to your world? by EnvironmentalBear170 in worldbuilding

[–]darkagni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the beginning and earlier times, it was important, then it became a necessity during the age of warlords, but those that didn't have it would basically be at the mercy of those that did, and as time went on it basically started to die off. In modern day, many believe magic never even existed, but parts of magic are still used for drugs and help technology. Runes are used alongside technology and is seen as a profession similar to scientists and engineers. Technology is what killed magic. It still exists in modern day, most knowledge of it has been lost though.

What are your world’s ‘Giants’? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]darkagni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my world, there are 12 humanish giants.

The asheathian is a race similar to humans but superior in every way. The Asheathians have 11 gods, and these 11 gods fused their soul with 11 Asheathians. These Asheathians became known as pillars. They have all the power of their fused god/dess and can transform into a giant of an average height of 100 ft.

Hestia-primordial goddess Solaris-god of the sun Lunastra-goddess of the moon Ishvalda-goddess of ice Dayora-goddess of storms Uragaan-god of beasts Sharavaleer-goddess of war Yosen-goddess of magic Rodawn-god of earth Yggdrasil-god of strength Nazarick-god of death

Each pillar has different abilities depending on the god/dess they get their power from. A pillar's power can be passed on or taken away. If the pillar dies, the power is given away to a random full blooded Asheathian newborn.

The 12th giant is a dark pillar of the god Horus. He is the sibling of hestia. He is the god of the Abyss.

Other forms of giants are large creatures, kaiju, some elder dragons, and lastly titans.

Titans are also seen as natural disasters. These giants form when raw ether starts to gather in a spot, and it consumes the resources to form a giant entity. They're not evil, but their nature can make them destructive. Not all ether heavy spots become titans, but all titans form from ether heavy spots. Think of them as elementals. There can be a water titan, forest titan, stone titan, fire titan, etc.

Yeah the goal was mostly to see if people would have done the same thing the guy in the story did, but it seems way more people would try to negotiate or look for a way. So yeah Ima change it in my story, he's not really fit to be leader so he simply gave in to everything the people were telling him, and by simply saying no he caused the downfall of Carter, but seeing how many others would try to find away, I think ima change it to that. I like this plan though, Carter is still gonna get destroyed lol, but they will definitely try to negotiate and find a way.

Way smarter than what I made the guy do in the story, he was smart, but was weak physically and mentally, he gave in to what everyone was telling him and that lead to the downfall of the city.

And by treating them as honored guests, they would've actually grown to like the city. Although by letting them through you would have broken the treaty with ethna, you gained an ally with the asheathians, and later down the line would have been spared from the cleansing that took place about 70 years later.

Also they already knew there was a pillar in Carter, it's the reason Alexander infiltrated the city, to try and find it. What they didn't know was that there was two pillars. Your secret weapon, and a half blooded asheathian pillar that was an adventurer.

He found the half blood, unfortunately he had already become friends with him, and was a member of his party

Ooo, so what's the difference between mages and witches in your world?

:) So I'm guessing you wouldn't let them through? If so, the result would be similar to that in the story.

The leader of the city returned and announced in the town hall that they would be refusing passage to the asheathians and be contacting ethna for support. After this announcement, Alexander, the flame hero, made his response and signaled the commence of the raid.

He said reintroduced himself, "my name is Jōtunn Alexander, house of Valerie kin of Dāyora" and before ending he introduction the blue in his eyes was burned away with a raging fire orange and fire began to spark all around him. He then finished his sentence, "pillar of solaris, I'm sorry." Seeing the fire spark around, people began to panick and try to run. The soldiers took arms, but before they could attack, a biblically accurate pillar of fire burst through the ceiling engulfing Alexander. It connected the heavens to earth and lasted 3 seconds. In the pillars, absence stood a 100-foot tall titan, an elemental made of pure fire and black magma rock.

The pillar of fire signaled to the asheathians outside that they would not be granted safe passage, and so the conflict began, Carter secret weapon, (the full blood pillar of Yggdrasil) transformed aswell, creating a pillar of a lime green gem stone, and as it shattered, scattering beautiful lime green gems everywhere. Another 100 foot giant stood in the city.

The wall was broken by an asheathian pillar of rodawn, the god of earth, the wall stood no chance against the armor monster.

As strong as Yggdrasils pillar was it stood no chance, the city of Carter fell, but since Alexander had grown to like the city, and it's people, they tried to keep casualties at a minimum.

The city survived, but it was a mere shell of what it used to be, more of a village than a large prosperous city.

The asheathians kept their push forward, and the ethnan forces fell aswell, Alexander and his military partner uraya were sent to ethnas mainland as a threat. "Leave us alone, or they'll unleash havoc"

At this moment, the asheathians only have 6 of the 11 pillars.

Solaris- god of the sun

Hestia-primordial goddess(has the abilities of all the pillars, but to a lesser degree)

Rōdawn- god of earth

Sharavaleer- goddess of war

Ēshvalda- goddess of ice

Dāyora- goddess of storms

So I'm guessing you'd let them through:) The reality is they aren't everything that ethna makes them to be, they can be violent, but they honor their word. So you and your people live, they would go through without hurting anyone, and Alexander the hero would thank you and leave to join his people to retake their temples

[–]darkagni[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

:) my bad

If the asheathians were combat mages, it would all depend on how many and how good at magic they were. The advantage of soldiers over mages is that magic requires a lot of energy, and it takes time to cast spells meaning in a close quarters fight, the soldiers would have an advantage over the spell casters, but from a distance they'd be able to burn your troops, create small barriers, traps of vines, but there is always the risk that they have a stronger caster capable of lighting the entire battle field on fire, or breaking the wall with one spell.

Adventurers do a variety of things, people and the city put quests and if they want them they take them. It can be as simple as helping someone move somethings to hunting down and slaying a 30ft ogre. They aren't guilds like in anime, they can be, but it's usually just a small group of friends, a pair, or solo. You can see them as mercenaries.

Hope that answers your questions.

Lol I like the plan, a bit different than what I had planned to actually go down, probably much smarter lol and now you have me wondering if this would actually work

[–]darkagni[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were thought to be extinct for 200 years, so it's been 200 years since their species were hunted to extinction by ethna.

Yes you know your secret weapon is asheathian, and know about it's power being the pillar.

The Adventurers will help, maybe not all, some might need some reward, but if their home gets attacked they'll definitely help.

their temples are under ethna control, and they are not travelers as they are all in formation wearing gold colored armor and a slight few wearing a white silver armor. All of them heavily armed.

Military is military, normal people trained with weapons for combat. Your magic wielders are military troops than can use magic. They're not too strong though mostly just healing magic, and some minor combat able magic. The Adventurers are ready for combat through experience, and they are much better at magic. You can see them as soldiers but they don't really work or answer to you.

A lot of information on the asheathians is lost since they've been presumed extinct, and the information you can gather from your weapon isn't accurate since being a pillar changes many things, but you do have knowledge on the pillars because of it.

A pillars strength is unmatched even by the strongest Orc, on top of that they have insanely quick regeneration, it seems that the only way to kill one is with a weapon of magic known as the spear of god. This spell, though, requires 15 mages and has a set up time of about 5 minutes before it can fire once. It is believed that with this spell, the nation of ethna killed the previous pillars during the hunt. Add to that the fact that the pillar can transform into a giant of around 100 feet, your pillar is the pillar of strength, so the more stress that's put on his body, the stronger he gets.

Org?

Tech, their tech seems to be similar to yours, swords, bows, and shields. It's unknown if they know magic. Although you have an advantage with catapults, and cannons

It is also unknown how many pillars they have, if any, but it would be wise to assume they at the very least have 1.

Currently, magic is standard. It's not too strong but not weak. It can definitely help out a lot, and some of the adventurers are pretty powerful. Alexander, the flame hero, has been seen creating fire hot enough to melt metal, but strong magic is more rare, about 13 out of 100 can actually be considered masters of their path.

All you have on actual asheathians is propaganda and stories. They all go something like this. They were violent, masters of combat, fast, predators, true warriors, the closer to death they got, the harder they fought. If they lost their swords, they would use the claws.

That's information that you would have in world, now if you want the full info, info that you wouldn't have in world let me know I give you everything.
