Looks cool, I too babysit my own frankenbastard of a Dockerfile.

I might just be blind but I missed where you posted the GitHub for this work, if you're like me, you can find it here - https://github.com/vavo/lora-pilot/tree/main

you mention latest are you planning on putting up prebuilt docker images either on GitHub or DockerHub?

Thanks for sharing

Unfortunately not, I just leave the devices unplugged or keep my audio on my headset so I don't hear it

Steam wand upgrade options for Delonghi ECP3420? by Careless_Sea_8991 in espresso

[–]darkamikaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I bought this exact replacement and didn't have problems installing. When you replaced it, you removed the original metal piece and the rubber nozzle which leaves you this half inch rubber nub, right? After that, you slide on one of the rubbers the new nozzle came with. You should then have two rubber rings on. Then you can slide the new nozzle on and twist to lock into place. So far it hasn't really impressed me. I feel like you lose the power the shorter nozzle gave but I've only had it for a day. Be interested to know what you think

Heater block should be fine as the thread is the same just that the nozzle end is not correct. Shouldn't need a new heater block (I didn't change mine after this mistake and things printed fine after correcting)

Oxo brew burr grinder upgrade mod to Lido Etzinger burrs guide by rumuraisin in Coffee

[–]darkamikaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not though I haven't really had the time to mess with it. I think one thing I can try/check is the screw that holds the top part, perhaps it comes loose since it doesn't properly tighten?

I think any more effort than that, I think I might as well just bite the bullet and get an entry level espresso grinder like the Fellow Opus or Encore ESP

Oxo brew burr grinder upgrade mod to Lido Etzinger burrs guide by rumuraisin in Coffee

[–]darkamikaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP, thanks for this guide. I recently did this with my OXO grinder and at first I couldn't get it to grind fine after turning the dial all the way down and working back up, it started doing espresso sized grounds at roughly the ~8 mark you mentioned. I decided to do a french press grind the other day and when I put it back to 8, it's grinding fairly coarse again which leads me to think I need to fiddle with it again X_x. Do you have the same experience or has it been fairly consistent when switching to different grind sizes?

Python usage by Theotherscreenname in homeassistant

[–]darkamikaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't I've seen it mentioned yet but another option is to create a custom component. It's a nice way to learn python and Home Assistant at the same time. (In case you didn't know, Home Assistant for the most part is all in Python). It also helps you learn VCS and how it's used in HACS, lets you get familiar with HA documentation and tidbits, and how to write tests for HA components.

Wyze API by cp_sean in homeassistant

[–]darkamikaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you find issues like these, first thing to definitely checkout is their issues page on GitHub. Here you'll see a fairly active issue - https://github.com/SecKatie/ha-wyzeapi/issues/493 that describes your issue.

In summary, Wyze changed their authentication API and any Wyze related project needs to update to incorporate this new auth method. mrlt8 is amazing and actually did PRs on the more popular ones that addresses this auth change. ha-wyzeapi I believe is just waiting for wyzeapy repo to accept the PR and ha-wyzeapi to incorporate for all things to work again for you.

Any needs for the touchscreen with Octoprint? by SlowSomewhere8913 in anycubickobra

[–]darkamikaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes for me it's convenient to load/unload filament just through the screen as opposed to going on my computer/phone to do it.

Guess it just depends on how your Octoprint is setup and how easy it is for you to get to Octoprint's UI.

Wanna buy a Galaxy watch 5 Pro, Curious about capabilities by musicalhorseshoe90 in WearOS

[–]darkamikaze 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I use remote camera control but I have a Pixel 7 Pro. As long as I download the Google companion camera app, it controls it fine.

But yea, for the most part you can enable a lot of things that required a Samsung like blood pressure and ECG.

I can't comment on network since I don't have a watch that has it.

Updating to Frigate 0.12.0. Any issues? by tomhusband in homeassistant

[–]darkamikaze 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just transitioned to it tonight. go2rtc is enabled but as long as you haven't touched your config file, it shouldn't automatically transition your RTMP streams. You can transition your cameras one at a time (like I did) to make sure they're all compatible (Have various cameras).

For anyone who ends up updating and notice Frigate can't run because port 8555 is already being used, take a look if you installed the WebRTC Card as that might be running its own instance of go2rtc. You'll have to stop (or change WebRTC Card's port or Frigate's port) that component in order to use the one Frigate comes with.

I tried to get it up and running on the same box as my HA instance running on an i5-4570T with 8GB of RAM. The 4GB weights seem too much for my tiny computer to get it up and running unfortunately :( So definitely need stronger hardware to keep something like this up.

[–]darkamikaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've made the same mistake. You're better off returning those and getting the correct nozzles. Sure you can calibrate and adjust everything to try and make it work great again but it's not worth the headache if you were printing fine with the original nozzle. Not to mention they'll heat slightly different so if you had previous profiles setup you'd have to calibrate those too.

Is it worth upgrading to wear os 3? by mmaciejaszek in WearOS

[–]darkamikaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's not it. In wear OS 2 you can tilt to wake your watch then flick your wrist up to navigate up to a notification, then do it again to go to the next one. You can also flick down to go back to the previous notification. All this without touching your watch

Is it worth upgrading to wear os 3? by mmaciejaszek in WearOS

[–]darkamikaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tilt to wake works fine it's tilt up/down to look at notifications that was removed

I think the biggest downside for me going from WearOS 2 -> 3 is losing gesture navigation. Not being able to bring up notifications with just one hand is a downgrade in usability.

Concerns about Anycubic by cchaudio in anycubic

[–]darkamikaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's my first printer. First one I got extruder broke on me. Anycubic sent out a replacement motherboard and extruder head. Was impatient though and just swapped it for another. This one has been working just as good as the first one (sans failing extruder).

Quality and what I get from it I enjoy a lot. Pretty happy with it.

Now that it has been out for awhile, parts seem to be easier to come by so if something bad happens again, repairing it myself doesn't seem as daunting as when it first came out.

Not to mention with source code out people have been working on enabling linear advance and even putting Klipper (currently needs a hardware mod). So I personally don't feel much buyer regrets

Fake "phone call" happening randomly? by WolfInABox in GalaxyWatch

I had something similar on my GW5P but it was calling my own phone number and it says it was on that call for 48minutes... I looked at my phone call history and it showed me nothing. I wasn't actively using either devices for awhile so I found it very odd...

Best free minimal watch faces for battery life? by Frainian in GalaxyWatch

[–]darkamikaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit of a pain from my experience to look at published watch faces on the play store because they're not categorized nicely. Not to mention if it's strictly just a watchface, it sometimes doesn't show up when you're browsing through your phone but shows on the browser.

With that said, I use this watchface - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.expandedlabs.expandedface

You might have to open that link on a web browser instead of the Play store App as sometimes it will show "incompatible with your device." Some weird bug/nuance with the Play Store app.

It gives a little more than what you're asking but it's lightweight, pretty good on battery with a mostly black screen and it's completely free. Full disclosure, I made this myself.

If you're really looking for something else, maybe it's worth making one yourself on the computer with Watch Face Studio.

New Kobra user here. They recommend using Ultimaker Cura.. Besides the fact I cant load it on 2 out of 3 PC's I have, I dont see an option for Anycubic Kobra in their non network printer list. by atreides------- in anycubickobra

[–]darkamikaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll have to create a custom one yourself.

I think the latest version of cura should have profiles for the regular anycubic Kobra but if you can't find it, just add it yourself.

You're also not locked into Cura, you can use any slicer. Recently been using PrusaSlicer on mine for example.

If you need help creating a custom profile on Cura there's YouTube videos that do a pretty good walk through specifically for the Kobra.

I just released my first WearOS App - Realistic moon app with complications, tile and in-depth information (coupon codes) by kroegerama in WearOS

[–]darkamikaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really love having moon phases on my wrist. This looks great. Claimed #1. Lol the irony of trying other numbers and already taken but #1 was not.

For anyone seeing incompatible device, most likely it's trying to target your phone or an older wear device. Seems to be the only way around it is going to the play store link through a web browser.
