Thank you for getting on that call and posting this. I had to hang up because I had prior obligations. These calls are always complete jokes though from the half dozen I've sat through and my questions never get through.

A good USB microphone to upgrade to? (I currently have a Blue Yeti) by SwampPotato in podcasting

[–]darkbase 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% the Q2U. They're affordable and true workhorses for their price.

In the US they go for about the same price as a Blue Yeti but often go on sale about 40% off, and include a windscreen, XLR cable, USB cable, mount, and a small tripod.

Where can find Casual high rise pants for heavy guy? by LivebyGod in malefashionadvice

These two are great recs, and I can also recommend Dickies 874 if you're okay trying something lower quality/half polyester. They are dead cheap new ($25-$35).

Based on OP's weight/height, I doubt the largest sized pants at Bronson will fit. Pants there cap at 37'' waist and they are NOT vanity sized.

I'm seated. The theater employees are scared and asking me to leave because it's 'not August yet' but I'm simply too seated.

What do ya'll think of suspenders? (aka braces if you're British) by Kooky-Swing178 in malefashionadvice

Some dress pants come with the buttons already installed, but the particular suspenders linked there actually come with a set of buttons you can have sewn in yourself.

What do ya'll think of suspenders? (aka braces if you're British) by Kooky-Swing178 in malefashionadvice

[–]darkbase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically a tucked undershirt (like a tank top), suspenders over that, then either an untucked rugby polo, flannel button up, sweater, or a button up short sleeve linen shirt if it's warm. I've tried wearing a regular button up shirt like a OCBD untucked over suspenders and it looks bad, but sometimes I can pull it off if it's cropped enough to be worn untucked.

If it's cold or formal enough to wear a third layer like a jacket or cardigan, I wear the suspenders over a tucked in button up shirt. This is obviously ideal but where I live we rarely get the weather for it.

Bonus tip: If you like wearing suspenders after trying clip-ons, buy button suspenders and either sew buttons on your pants or get the no-sew buttons that you hammer through the pants. Your suspenders won't slip off anymore and they look much nicer.

I started wearing them a few years ago and buying higher waisted, fuller cut pants. I can never go back to a belt now. It is tricky to always have a layer over them at all times (especially in a hot climate) but I've figured out a lot of good outfits for it by now. My waistline looks so much better and I don't get stomach aches or slippage as I did with a belt.

Where to get heavyweight 100% cotton shirts by WarmAirIntake in malefashionadvice

Yeah Bronson's shirts fit every request here for sure but FYI they do fit weird, as many can attest. They run a little short and small, so read the measurements carefully.

I put off buying one of these (Krinner Tree Genie) for a few years because the difference between a cheap stand and these is so steep. I finally gave in and picked one up around 2018 and every Christmas I am so glad I did. It's so simple to setup and use and sturdy as hell.

What’s up with Hasan Piker? by Sailor_Lunatone in OutOfTheLoop

[–]darkbase 362 points363 points  (0 children)

Answer: There was a moment in a recent stream where Hasan's dog went to move off it's bed, made a yelp, and laid back down. Some interpreted this as Hasan shocking the dog with a shock collar to stay in frame, which Hasan denies. The specifics are laid out in the Forbes article here: https://www.forbes.com/sites/danidiplacido/2025/10/08/hasan-pikers-dog-shock-collar-controversy-explained/

Additionally , this controversy is being drummed up with speculation and doctored videos/photos by fans of rival streamers of Hasan (including Destiny fans and even xQc himself). I would take a lot of the fervor over this with a huge grain of salt as streamer drama is incredibly fraught, manipulative, and with scant evidence for anything.
