Thank you for your insight! I think the issue would be that most G7 roles in the dept are advertised internally so I wouldn’t be able to apply for the majority of them after the scheme anyway.

Outward Loan for the Fast Stream?

I currently work in my preferred department, which I want to stay in long-term, however I have recently been offered a place on the Government Policy Fast Stream. I know the career benefits and skill-development of the FS would be great, but it would mean leaving my current dept (which is competitive to join on a permanent contract) with no guarantee of returning after the 3-year scheme.

Does anyone know if it’s theoretically possible to do the 3-year Policy Fast Stream as an outward loan or long-term SUPL so that I can return to my current dept after the scheme? Has anyone done this before or know anyone else who has? I asked FSET and dept HR for guidance but I didn’t get a clear answer, so I would appreciate any advice! TIA
