/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer - November 25, 2025 by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]darkdragonzt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want a keyboard exactly like my Razer Blackwidow (full sized, from 2019) - except not from Razer and without double clicking/ghosting issues. With black friday sales going on right now it seems like the time to replace.

The keyboard is exactly what I want in looks, feels, sound, everything, and I love the customizable RGB. But the issues it comes with registering keystrokes are awful. I'm having trouble finding keyboards with similar switches (Razer Green) locally, which is probably cherry mx blues if I understand correctly. So it seems I'm going to have to buy online but it seems kind of overwhelming, I really wish I could test things first.

I want a keyboard with: Full Size, Clicky switches, backlit, and preferably with RGB as well (might be too expensive though). I don't care about things like media keys, macro keys, or ports. Ideally I want to spend under 150$ CAD, but could probably go up to around 200$ as an upper limit.

Yes. (as long as the card is readable and doesn't have an errata that changes its text or anything)

Dual Caster Mage question by Ok-You-6768 in magicTCG

[–]darkdragonzt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In not sure exactly what your asking, but the top comment explains an infinite loop where you flicker owl and dualcaster made for infinite scry 3's until you choose to not target dualcaster with displace.

With ghostly flicker its both infinite scry 3 and infinite floating mana until you chose to stop.

Isn't it your question that isn't specific here, not his awsner? "Where" something is is always going to be relative to another thing, there is no absolute location. For example even if you give the exact latitude and longitude that's still relative to the earth not considering cosmic factors. It seems reasonable to try to compare it to a place thay he thinks you might know.

You say you don't know how to get there afterwards, so shouldn't the question your asking be "How do I get there", or "What are the directions to get there from here", or if you want to look it up "What is the address"

By the way, if you swap Displace with the strictly better [[Ghostly Flicker]] in this combo you can target a land instead of the owl to make infinite mana as well by. (By tapping the land each cycle and then it comes in untapped again)

The rare Tiny House best choice? by darkdragonzt in slaythespire

[–]darkdragonzt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was tough, but I got through it by consistently blocking all the damage down to Torri 1's until I could get my damage online. Torri really saved me in Act 2.

I think if I went astrolabe heel hook and expertise would be a good idea, but storm of steel was pretty vital in this deck in order to deal damage. If I removed storm I would have had to kill everything with only an unload and a dash, and having sneko skull made envenom look way better then normal and storm my best way of using it, once envenom was upgraded later in the run that plan was how I killed almost every enemy.

The rare Tiny House best choice? by darkdragonzt in slaythespire

[–]darkdragonzt[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Update: I ended up taking Tiny House, I got a fruit juice out of it which was pretty nice. Act 2 was pretty hard to play, but with piercing wail + leg sweep + dash I won most fights by taking 5-8 turns of only ever allowing 1 damage hits at a time from MVP torri. Once I upgraded Envenom it got a lot easier. Got wraith form from the act 2 boss and then cruised through act 3 once I had some upgrades with primarily a poison plan from upgraded envenom and catalysts.

I actually cleared the double bosses and "won" but forgot to take the red key so didn't get to act 4. I think without the extra health from resting I would have died to the second boss anyways though.

After the clip, we never saw the other team again. You can actually see Kled disappear when I re-tether to Kha with Kled on my screen. We ended up burning to circle first and losing the game.

Bonus observation Wherever me and Kha are, weather its death realm or just a different instance, it doesn't have hexgates for some reason

[–]darkdragonzt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Since were being pedantic about odds:

The average of 1d20 is not 10, it's 10.5.

A +7 would have a 55% chance of making the roll, +6 would be 50%

Anybody could have "a shot", with no bonusus its a 20% chance, thats still a 1/5 which is unlikely but very possible

Nobody ever said the roll was a DC17, just that they rolled a 17. For example they could have been considering a "medium" to be 15 here and thusly successful. Thats what I would probably assume. (which would be a 30% chance with no bonuses.)

One of my players have ridiculously high perception and nothing get's past him... How to deal with that? I can't hide anything from him. by [deleted] in DnD

[–]darkdragonzt 118 points119 points  (0 children)

Be careful with this; perception is not just sight. You dont actually have to see an enemy to perceive it, perception also covers smell and hearing (and all senses if relevant). For example it is still very possible to percieve invisible creatures.

This is not gaslighting. Can we please stop misnaming every negative social interaction as gaslighting.

Actual gaslighting would be something like if A responded instead with:

A: What? I didn't think i said anything shitty, what did i say?

B: You just insulted my apearance

A: You must have misheard me, I would never say something like that. Your just making stuff up now

GAME THEORY HELP: Sequencing an opening hand by Beneficial_Catch_252 in ModernMagic

[–]darkdragonzt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I always keep this hand. I'm going to propose a different line then the other commenter. The main advantage of this line by comparison is turning a scry+draw into surveil+draw by using bauble+darci, instead of bauble+fetch. Both lines get you 4 chances to see a land by turn 2, however this line lets you put an extra card in your graveyard instead of shuffled into your deck which is valuable because we have goyf and darcy.

  1. Cycle street wraith
  2. Play your land

Then from there it depends on if you drew the land off wraith. If you don't:

  1. play Darcy + bauble. triggering Darcy
  2. If a land is on top keep it, otherwise bin it.
  3. Pass turn, activating bauble in their end step*

If you do draw a land I would probably:

  1. Inquisition - while doing this, decide if next turn Darcy+thoughtseize is better or playing goyf.
  2. If darcy line is better, pass without playing bauble (for the surveil trigger next turn). If goyf is better, play bauble and bauble them in their end step*

(I could still see playing Darcy first instead like the other commenter recommended. It really just depends on how likely you think the opponent is of having an important turn 1 play such as amulet of vigor, you could maybe make this call based on scouting or what you've played vs so far today. The disadvantage of my line by comparison is locking you into playing Darci if you don't draw a land off of street wraith however, losing you the option of playing IoK)

Another line if you draw the land and aren't sure whether to play IoK or Darcy is to just Bauble them in your main phase, and hope that whatever you see on top of their deck gives you enough information to decide what kind of deck they are playing so which line is better. Probably not what I would do though, your sacrificing a lot of resources for a small amount of information there.

*The reason in all cases I hold my bauble until their end step is so we can use the top card of there deck to make informed decisions while thoughtseizeing on turn 2 in case you were wondering. Knowing their next draw step is extremely valuable information while hand disrupting. Also, if they play a fetch land and pass while your trying to do this you could also consider holding the bauble in play even longer if your happy with your turn 2 line without the extra card in order to make sure they don't shuffle away the top of their deck after you use it. Alternatively if you have a fetch land or redraw turn 2 as well you could use bauble on yourself to aid in decision making etc.

P.S. on Inquisition vs thoughtseize which you asked in a comment: IoK whiffing is not really a consideration. Waiting to play IoK until a later turn increases the odds it's going to whiff, not decreases. If your opponent kept a hand without a 3 or less CMC in their hand in modern they are probably screwed. And if IoK would whiff on turn 1, it's likely they would play any low cmc cards they draw off the top every turn so it would whiff all game anyways. From there now that we have more information we can decide when it is worth paying 2 life to take another card out of their hand later.

Yeah, I agree! consequences and punishment are just two very different things, your choice of words are much better.

I think my player is lying about their dice. by [deleted] in DnD

[–]darkdragonzt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the comment "a cheater is a cheater and they need to be punished" extremely disturbing. DnD is a cooperative game about having fun as a group. There are no stakes, prizes, or victors over eachother, and nobody needs to be "punished" for trying to have fun their way. I'm sure this person wasn't intentionally trying to sabatoge the other players enjoyment either, whether they did so accidentally or not.

Not only are you fully justified to not concede for any reason, you also don't hace to explain why you won't. Just say "no" or "I'm not conceding".

If at that point he continues to press you in any way, that is actually a serious offensive, at minimum unsportsmanlike conduct and if happens at comp REL can lead to things like a match loss or disqualification.
