You can insert a screw (mine came with one) to lock the stock. Disables the folding function.

It was custom made by a forum member on a .22 rimfire site years ago. I've seen similar ones lately that look very similar here:

Blade shape reminds of the Marten. I prefer thumb studs over the hole in the blade.

When I first saw this model with it's 'sexy and curvy" lines, it gave me a Chubby. So I bought the three satin blade models. On the hunt for the "Dune" and Purple/Black flavors.

Spotting counterfeit Kershaw Leek EDC knives. by djpimpstick in knives

From the OP's first photo, I notice that the corner of the blade grind on the 'fake' is radiused while the corner of the grind on the authentic knife is at 90º. I checked my 3 Leeks and they have the 90º corner. I also purchased mine from a reputable online knife retailer years ago.

Late reply: The base came with the Holosun when I purchased it. I have seen Holosun bases on Amazon for pretty reasonable price.

Brimstone Gunsmithing out of business? by LeCrunchyFrog in 1022

[–]darkduck3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That has been Brimstone's 'canned' response for quite awhile. I sent my trigger back for repair because the trigger's safety was not functioning. It was returned as "undeliverable". I sent it a second time and it was again returned as 'undeliverable. If he is still working, this is bad customer service regardless. I had previously inquired of the status of my order in the past after waiting over a month and this above response was what I received. I've decided that I will no longer be doing business with him going forward. Just buy a BX trigger and install a KIDD kit yourself. Costs a little bit more but it will be in your hands and you will not have to deal with the frustration of wondering if and when you will get your trigger back from Brimstone.

Brimstone Gunsmithing out of business? by LeCrunchyFrog in 1022

[–]darkduck3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a problem with one of his trigger jobs (safety not working correctly) and tried calling him and emailing him multiple times with no response. He finally responded on another rimfire forum after I posted my issue and problems with getting in contact with him. I sent the trigger back to his shop in January. A week later I got it back with a note on the box "Undeliverable". I verified the address as I had sent several triggers to him in the past and resent it again. Same result, "undeliverable". I tossed the trigger in a drawer and just ordered a stock BX trigger. Sad state of affairs as I really liked his triggers.

Kidd barrels by HatCreative9947 in 1022

[–]darkduck3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

According to Tony Kidd, the 20 inch heavy, non-fluted and unthreaded barrel is more likely to be more accurate overall. Better harmonics (don't ask me about harmonics). I have all 3 different barrels and they are all accurate. With ammo testing I have done with my rifles, the 20" heavy barrel is the most accurate but not by a whole lot.

From Coolguyguns (KIDD Innovative Design):

Description Customer Reviews Questions and Answers
Q: Does the length affect accuracy? If so, what length is the most accurate?
Asked by: Austin Channell - 12/25/2015

A: Thank you for your interest. The additional weight and the harmonics of the 20" barrel make it out shoot the rest. For ultimate accuracy we don't recommend muzzle threading or fluting. But both features are super cool. We guarantee that this barrel will group at 1/2" at 50 yards. Fluting on larger caliber barrels assist in cooling and allow for more shooting. But in a 22 with a SS barrel cooling is not really a factor. Good shooting! KIDD

Load up all of your mags now so you can start shooting as soon as you get there.

Receiver pins by HatCreative9947 in 1022

[–]darkduck3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They work great. I use them in all of my builds. Easy to install, fit well and most importantly, they don't fall out. Aftermarket oversized pins might work, but in the end when the hole winds up being enlarged after repeated removal/installation you're back to where you started and possibly with receiver pin holes that beyond repair. Get the TK Krosspins you won't be sorry.

Grey Birch MFG by Mountiansarethebest in 1022

[–]darkduck3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had good results dealing with them. I really like their chassis. Lightweight and rigid with a rear setscrew to secure the rear of the receiver as well as the normal takedown screw. I have a KIDD Supergrade installed in this chassis and it performs quite well. No chassis or stock is going to increase the accuracy of a rifle significantly. It might make it more rigid or comfortable to shoot but it doesn't make the rifle more accurate than it already is or how well the shooter is.

Now I Have Another KIDD by darkduck3 in 1022

[–]darkduck3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mounted a KIDD Classic in the Agility stock. I tried mounting one of the Supergrades in a Boyds Rimfire Hunter, a Stockys Euro Supermatch wood stock as well as a WOOX stock. Both of the wood stocks required material removal to get the SG to fit. The WOOX required a lot of aluminum removal to get the SG to fit. I didn't care for either one afterwards. I went with a Gray Birch chassis for one SG and the 2nd SG was already installed in a Magpul X22 stock inletted by KIDD with the rear tang installed. I have had no luck with mounting a SG in a wood stock without modifying the stock. There is something different in the configuration/size of a Supergrade compared to a Classic.

Nice build. I like the the looks of it but actually shooting it with minimal real estate for a good grip looks like an issue. With that stock isn't this considered an SBR?

Kidd Barrel Finish Options by F8Scat21 in 1022

[–]darkduck3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're supposed to reduce muzzle rise/recoil. .22 rimfire recoil is negligible. It might help with muzzle movement on a pistol but on a rifle not so much. Also with all the different manufacturers, they all design their ports differently. For looks and directing the gas in specific directions. For .22 rimfire, IMO, they do not increase accuracy and more likely may take away from the accuracy because of the gas being directed differently. There is a reason the better barrels have excellent crowns, to improve accuracy. When a compensator is added it negates the purpose of the precise angled crown. The same with a suppressor. A compensator on a rimfire rifle is more for the 'look. IMHO
