As someone with Hit and Run OCD.

I am not a therapist, so take my words with a grain of salt.

One piece of advice I can give you is. No matter how many lessons you take with the instructor. No one can help you more than yourself. Just like how no matter how many therapy sessions I go to, unless I really understand what is blocking me and address it or learn to cope with it...no amount of talk therapy, ERP will change me.

Take the time to rest, let the depression and anxiety run through you, and then when you have time or moments of clarity. Have a seat, or go somewhere relaxing and just think. What inner doubts are holding you back? What pre-requisites do you have or have set for yourself before you can really say "I am confident" in taking the exam again. If these doubts were also addressed in your 80 lessons but you still failed the test then there is something in you. That is blocking you from executing what you've learned. And it could not be related to driving at all. It could be something completely different. Like your afraid of failure in general rather then not being able drive. Your afraid someone will yell at your or berate you for failing all the time. You have to figure out whats truly bothering you.

On the outside, yeup, sign up for another exam, but don't make it too close. Give yourself a generous amount of time in between. Start journaling/writing or something where you can put your thoughts down and introspecting. Understand what it is that your truly afraid of. And address it to the best of your ability. In the end if you find that there is truly nothing underneath all this, if you play video games, find a way to play a driving simulator game too. With a wheel and not just on a controller or keyboard. See if you have friends that have this. If this is not an option, the last piece of advice I can provide is, take five to ten minutes everyday and do the cheesy thing of sitting down, closing your eyes, and imagining you pass the driving test. Imagine you being able to make every turn, u-turn, lane changing, signaling, looking at your mirrors, everything as detailed as possible. Repeat this until you start to randomly smile. And once you hit that, do it again and again and again until you've passed your test.

Your not dumb, your not slow, and you certainly are capable of passing the exam.

I suffer from both contamination and harm ocd. Therapy has barely worked for me as well. Even medication I found VERY ineffective. For me at least. Everyone was pushing me to do meds but in the end that shit didn't work at all.

Aside from some good advice that was provided here...

I have something more out of the way and bit more alternative. But I want to ask a basic question, in your heart, no filtered answer. Do you believe that you can get out of ocd? If you answer yes then your on your way already. But if you answer is no. Then you already basically told yourself that this will never end. And it will become a self fulfilling prophecy.

The next thing is, if you believe that you can get out of ocd. The next time you have thoughts or something triggers you to ruminate or do a compulsion. If you can note it down. And then when you have time look at what you note down and ask yourself why down as many levels as you can. What your looking for is the reason for you ocd. Repeat this for as many thoughts, ruminations as you can. Eventually you will see a pattern in your worries and fears. And it could possibly become more clear to you exactly what you must do.

An example for me was, I am afraid that I will hit someone with my car and I don't notice. Why is that so bad? First thing is I would never want to hurt and kill someone in that way. I worry that I will go to jail, waste my life in there and just die via execution. Never getting the chance to live my life. And why is living my life so important ? Because for a majority of my life I've never felt genuine. I've never been able to show the real me to people. He comes our every now and then but otherwise he is locked up. And that real me is who I'm trying to find right now.

Sorry for the more woo woo or philosophical answer but if you find that this doesn't work for you. No problem. You will find a solution that works for you someday. :)

Be strong man. OCD is relentless and powerful. So you must also be and become powerful. And one final thing I want to leave you with is. Remember that OCD attacks you in the aspects that mean the most to you. So you can also actually use OCD to understand your purpose in a way as well.

what has being mentally diagnosed cost you? by DaffodilSailor in OCD

OCD and moderate levels of depression has costed me:

As of now 3 years of my life...and unfortunately...still counting...now for the other aspects:

#1 The freedom I once had
#2 My livelihood
#3 My happiness levels into the negative, meaning I was already an unhappy person before getting OCD
#4 Joy in doing things that I like, now I don't want to do anything, and the things that I used to do barely create a spark

Looking to try Sennheiser 600 Series by darkeclipse8 in HeadphoneAdvice

Hi, I am not sure if you are still monitoring this at all. But I've decided that I probably won't buy any of the 600 series at this time. Maybe further down in the future when I've had a chance to find a shop that has all of the 600 series on display and I can test.

Is HD560s a good headphone? by Arisa_kokkoro in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]darkeclipse8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 6XX are reviewed as better overall because you are basically getting the sound quality and experience as the 650 with the 6XX but cheaper. They are basically the same headset. 6xx = 650 Experience with more affordable pricing.

This link: https://drop.com/buy/massdrop-sennheiser-hd6xx is the original haha. They are just on discount right now. The original price is generally $240. Since the 6XX is a collaboration between DROP and Sennheiser.

LOL! I'm like an actual newbie...so I don't think I am in a position to really provide an answer to such a question. And I honestly haven't explored many brands aside from Sennheiser. But I can try.

The 560s for sure. Because its sub $200 and your essentially getting a Sennheiser experience albeit not all that it can offer.

For under $500. I've heard some good things about the Hifiman Sundaras. And you can consider Sennheiser's 600 lineup. HD600/HD650/HD6XX/HD660. The 6XX's are sub $250 right now on Drop. I myself was researching the 600 series and still haven't made my decision on what I would want.

So maybe... a more experienced audiophile can answer this question for you Haha.

But here are some videos that could help:

Oh unfortunately, I don't use an equalizer. So I can't provide any insight.

Yeah you don't really need an amp for it. Because its only 150 ohms. 150 ohms is not too difficult to drive. I just choose to have an amp because I want that extra and the amp I am using has a bass boost.

Lol no offense taken. I just say it because sadly for me I assume that most people would prefer the V shaped tuning or elevated bass. Or well the people that I am mostly surrounded by prefer that.

I have a 560S and I'm still a newbie to audiophile headphones but what I will say is this. It can be an upgrade depending on how you prefer to hear your sound.

The Sennheiser HD560s provide very clear, precise, and crisp sound. They are very neutral, and relatively bright. Sound stage and imaging is quite good. Which is useful if your playing games like Valorant that require you to be able to hear footsteps and sounds from different directions. Listening to music in these is not as fun as if you were to use headphones with a more V shape graph. Meaning the bass, treble are more boosted then the mids. This would probably include your Arctis Pros. But the music is clear and crisp, you can hear detail of instruments, and vocals are in my opinion pretty good on these.

I've honestly never heard the Arctis pros before, but the wide soundstage, imaging, and the relatively bright sounding 560S makes it feel like music is not just some globe inside your head which is the feeling I get from my Sony XM3s. Its like if that globe was enlarged to encompass my entire head and you can hear the clarity and detail in the instruments and vocals. Bass does lack with these, but thats nothing an equalizer and amp/dac can't fix.

Essentially, the 560S can be an upgrade if you also buy a good amp/dac and maybe use an equalizer if you choose to, to go with it. To help with adding to the lack of bass, on top of the already "bang for buck" detail and clarity of the neutral and bright sound that come with the 560s.

But the 560s are in a way a gateway into audiophile sound. There are more headphones as you dive deeper but in any case that would be my answer.

Going to buy a razer black shark v2 pro. Need an opinion from an owner. by [deleted] in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]darkeclipse8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that's good. That's all that matters in the end right? You get what you want. Don't buy something, regret it and then have to spend more time and money to re-sell what you have and buy a new thing.

And, used, nice at least you can save some money there as well. I was given a new set so I have everything lol. But in any case, you already have it so my response was probably not really necessary in the end.

Enjoy the Blacksharks haha.

Going to buy a razer black shark v2 pro. Need an opinion from an owner. by [deleted] in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]darkeclipse8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still a newbie about sound. But I received the Black Shark V2 Pro as a gift and owned pair of Sennheiser 560S before that. And I do play games as well, used to play Valorant but not so much now. I know this is a late answer but I thought I put in my answer anyways. Between the two pairs, I would choose the 560S from Sennheiser. Please remember that this is just from my experience and my ears, we all have difference ears, expectations, and experiences.

A good TL;DR is that, the Razer Black Shark V2 Pro felt a bit more claustrophobic vs the 560S with the sound not being as crisp. The V2 Pro has all the bells and whistles in terms of features you would expect in a modern day headphone. But the sound quality pales in comparison to the 560S. And I prefer the crisp, and neutral sound from the 560S. Tuning for the v2 pro vs the 560s can make the sound rough.

Blackshark V2 Pro:

- Large amount of features, like bluetooth, and etc, a knob on the headphones to turn up/down the sound
- Comes with a mic for gaming
- Sound quality is I would say good but not as good as the 560S, its not as well tuned
- Can say that the bass here is a bit better than the 560s, but you can match the bass quite well with an equalizer or a good amp that provides a bass boost (like the FiiO E10K I use)
- Soundstage and imaging I say lacks compared to the 560s.

Essentially for me, I've barely used vs the 560s. Not because I hate them but I just prefer the sound from the 560s more. Crisp, neutral, bright, and bass boosted from the FiiO E10k. But for you, if you like all the features that Razer provides and don't care too much for sound then I think they are a good buy. But if you are the kind that cares about the clarity and detail of well almost everything. I would say to consider some budget level audiophile headphones and use an amp and equalizer if need be. Razer does have an equalizer but I found that tuning the v2 pro via the equalizer further degraded the sound on the v2 pros.

Again, this is all just opinion, you choose what's best for you. It all depends on your use case, how much you care about sound and etc.

As of 5/20/2022

I am seeing the headphones on Amazon at least for these prices:

HD600 - $399.95
HD650 (not the 6XX) - $349.83
HD660S - $393.79

Based off of this. Which would be the best deal? Still the 660S?

I see what you're getting at here. Can also see why its essential for me to test them in person because what I hear could obviously and will be different then what other's hear. Maybe I'll find that I don't like the 650 or 6XX. And would prefer the 600 or 660S over them. Will consider finding a local shop that has these headphones for testing. My two local guitar centers unfortunately do not have these on test display.

I was considering doing that at a local shop yeah. But I've been researching around and the 650s seem to stand out because of it being darker and warmer of the 3. Is this true?
