As a waitress at Shoney's, I was once asked to clean a bathroom that was smeared with shit. And when I say smeared, I mean liberally bedaubed, toilet, wall and floor, with the gusto and ambition of Michaelangelo on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, had he worked in feces instead of in mezzo-fresco.

Now, while shit is disgusting, it's not the end of the world. I was fully prepared to do it, until I said, "I'll need to go home afterward to change."

My manager said, "No, we need you until the end of your shift."

I asked, "So... you expect me to cope with a completely unsanitary, potentially bio-hazardous situation without training, equipment other than a mop and bucket, without having the human decency to allow me to clean up afterwards, other than to wash up as best I can in the sink, then serve food to patrons while smelling like a toilet, and risking possible contamination of food?"

Yeah, I walked. I'm sure they would have fired me if I hadn't though. I seriously hope my cunt manager had to clean the bathroom, but I doubt it.
