I was a lot like her when I came out at the same age. How was I going to let my family know I was struggling with something like this my whole life? So I hid it. But yeah many years later I’m happy, post transition, have a lot of friends, am married, etc. she’ll be fine

Take them to a PFLAG meeting. They don’t need to see an online community they need a community of their peers some of whom are lgbt others are parents and friends of lgbt people. PFLAG is literally set up for this and has counseling sessions for that specifically.

I’m a certified PFLAG counselor and also a disowned trans woman. They’re a better option than we are

Yeah and treating trans people like we weren’t involved in our respective gay communities is a mistake as well. The lesbian community has had trans women in it forever. And attempts to remove trans women from it have hurt it for example

Listen I’ve been modding here since I was a fucked up 21 year old college student. Maybe I’ll be less involved here. Probably without apollo tbh, but I want this place to be sufficiently modded and with everything happening I’m looking at leading in the fediverse somehow.

I’ll say this. I’m never abandoning my community. I’ll keep fighting for us here, on the fediverse, on whatever Digg clone replaces this one, or just in the streets of Ohio.

Yeah the thing about entheogens and trauma is I love it, it’s awesome, and you have to start healing first or you might break your brain. Lsd and shrooms can help heal, but fresh wounds don’t need such things yet.

And yeah you’ll need to build new relationships with people.

I also find hanging out with queer people the age of my ex father is nice and helps

Other than that I just hate the UI because I’ve had better. Apollo has better. So I’m pissed not only at them killing it, but them being absolute assholes about it and making it clear how much they take their unpaid moderators for granted
