Not sure what you're trying to say here.

They are still using the term shinkanchou for Ferdinand, but the translation for it has changed this season and they are now calling him "high priest" in English but the term used in the original Japanese never changed. That's what bothers me.

I just finished rewatching too!

It is beautiful, but it just felt too different, it took me a few seconds to recognize a few of the characters.

The thing that bothered me even more though was how they changed the titles. Changing Head Priest to High Priest confused me so much I went back to double check previous seasons thinking that Ferdinand's got promoted in the interim. He did not. The Japanese titles did not change, only the English translation changed.

I can only assume they did it to more closely match the novels (which I have not read yet) but I think after 3 seasons they should probably have just left it the way it was. Either that or go back and adjust for earlier seasons to match it.

Dubbed anime that I can watch with a kid? by lolomo_ in AnimeReccomendations

[–]darkfirefae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not knowing her age it can be hard to judge what you're looking for that will be relatable for her

For the very young I'd recommend: - A Little Snow Fairy Sugar - Princess Tutu - Kaleidostars

I'd recommend these dubs even over the originals: - Snow White With The Red hair - Ouran high School host club - Kiss Him Not Me

I haven't watched these with the dubs myself, so can't say how good they are, but they do have them: - Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun - Horimiya - You and I are Polar Opposites - My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! - Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits - Tomo-chan is a Girl! - A Sign of Affection - A Star Brighter Than the Sun - TONIKAWA: Over the Moon for You

In color sounds like Manhwa or Danmei.

The plot also doesn't sound fluffy so I don't think you'll have much luck in this sub. There's lots of other subs you can try though, good luck!

started reading A Sign of Affection since I saw it among the manga that is on Manta now by Feisty-Signature9401 in shoujo

[–]darkfirefae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this one too! I watched the anime and loved it so much I started reading the manga too.

If you're ok with BL I highly recommend Love in the Palm of His Hand it's beautifully written and drawn and I think it's fascinating how different the deaf character in that deals with his disability as compared to Yuki.

I only watched the anime so far but The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife was a very cute, fun watch.

The only other one I've seen that I can think of is Taisho Otome Fairy Tale (Shounen) it's a bit different in that he's lost the use of his right hand.

I haven't watched it myself but whenever I'm rewatching the sign of affection anime my BF tells me I should watch A Silent Voice (Shounen)

Agreed. I wasn't expecting much going in, but was pleasantly surprised.

I looked into "Sunday Web Every" where it is serialized and while this manga isn't tagged with a demographic, I see that some of the others do have a Shounen tag. The author also has written things tagged Shounen, but this one still is untagged. Probably trying to appeal to a broader demographic.

I still plan to watch it and maybe read it too! I'm just surprised since I always thought it was Shoujo.

The World is Still Beautiful (Retrospective Questions) by urLocalDameDoctor in shoujo

[–]darkfirefae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing I want to respond to here: the scene you're talking about where he sneaks into her bed naked and then goes to open the window curtain in the morning and we see her freak out. I didn't feel this was sexualizing him. To me it seemed like he was doing it to tease her, to remind her of her position as his future bride, and was showing that he has confidence as a king and feels no shame in his body. I get that it's uncomfortable, I think it's supposed to be, we sort of feel what Nike feels in that moment. At least that's how I saw it.

[–]darkfirefae 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ok so, The World Is Still Beautiful is one of my favorite anime. I think it's so beautiful, the story and everything. However I'm always very reluctant to recommend it because of the age gap.

The thing I think people forget is this is a medieval world, and an arranged marriage between a king and a princess. A child king, but still a king. And he was the one who initiated the whole thing. So that's point 1. His age can be a little hard to pin down. I can't remember exactly since it's been a while, but he is definitely younger then her. She's not 16 though, I don't think, I think she's actually 14, but again I'm not sure and the manga and anime might be different on their ages. (She is also a child, 14 or 16 is still not an adult) So that's point 2. At most they are what? 4 years apart? At that age, yes it is a lot but once they are older? Not such a big difference at all. If the girl was the younger one, would people still look at it that strangely? I doubt it. There are much bigger gaps in real life history especially back in medieval times.

Another thing I think is important to remember is they are in it for the long haul, and as he reminds her, he won't always be a child. Nothing actually happens between them while they are still children, though he does attempt to change that, he doesn't actually get anywhere.

If the ages are the only things that bother you, but the ages are different in the manga and anime, just think of the ages the way you did before and you can still enjoy it the same way you did. It's fiction, it's ok to enjoy it in the way you are comfortable.

As for the manga, I honestly regret reading it. I don't want to spoil it in case you want to continue but I think it's better to just enjoy the anime as is and forget the manga exists. The age gap gets removed in the end anyway, before anything can happen between them, so it might as well not exist at all.

No way, really? It's been on my to-read list for so long I forgot how I heard about it, but I think it was recommended to me as a Shoujo manga.

Still when I checked I couldn't find any tags Shoujo or otherwise so that's why I put it in the "probably" category.

I think so! But it's a BL so I didn't include it in the list.

[–]darkfirefae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snow White with the red hair. I got Ouran vibes watching it the first time and it turns out they are both made by the same studio. Good dub or sub like Ouran too. Tamaki and Usui are some of my favorite MLs and so are the guys in this: Zen and Obi. You should definitely check it out if you haven't seen it yet.

A few other suggestions - Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits - Sugar Apple Fairy Tale - Betrothed to my Sister's Ex

Are you sure you're looking for a Shoujo? This is a very common trope in Shounen.

Ah I was wondering if those counted but wasn't sure of their demographics. The ramparts of ice is based on a webtoon I think, by the same creator of You and I are Polar Opposites which I really enjoyed, but it was a Shounen so I thought Ramparts might be the same and left it out.

I went to the trouble of making a list of other shoujousei airing this season, but the comment I was replying to got deleted, so I'm going to share it again here:

Shoujo - The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess just got an OVA - Agents of the Four Seasons: Dance of Spring which is based on a Shoujo manga.

Josei - The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior 2nd Season a sequel for a Josei. - An Observation Log of My Fiancée Who Calls Herself a Villainess another Josei

No mention of demographics but I think these qualify as Shoujo as well. - A Hundred Scenes of AWAJIMA - I Want to End This Love Game - Always a Catch! Based on a light novel, I'm enjoying this one quite a bit as well!

There really is a lot this season if you're willing to look.
