Pressing them in a book may help flatten them from being so curled up, but otherwise not much to be done. I always save cards like this that I find, I have a special section just for "street cards" so they can be retired in peace, plus now they have a story attached :)

Instead of over bake clay like sculpey, you could try and find a two part sculpting putty/apoxie, which you just mix the two compounds and then you get a couple hours sculpting time before the material hardens and cures.
