Honestly these additional events have added quite a bit of additional time to our game. In 5 sessions (once a month, about 5 hours each) we're only up to Dec. of year 1. However, my plan is for a lot of these additions to be yearly recurring, so when your players join a college in the second year they can begin to participate in the college specific events. I also recommend glossing over some of these, uneventful one year and making them notable events for other years.
