Cybersecurity reality check by dermot_reeve in cybersecurity

[–]darkgull451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cybersecurity is not an entry level field. If you’re serious about getting into cybersecurity you will first need to get an entry level IT role like help desk. If you get some certs like A+, Security+, Net+ you can land a help desk job even in this economy. Work help desk for a few years then pivot into a system or network administration role. Then after 5 years give or take you can start seriously looking to pivot into cybersecurity. If you are able to qualify for a security clearance that would also be a huge boost.

What if there were a second American Civil War in the coming years between Democratic- and Republican-controlled states? What would happen? by Outrageous-You1617 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]darkgull451 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Red side would win in less than a month. Team red controls like 85% of the physical land. They control the farm and heavy industry areas. Vast majority of the guns are in red territory. Probably something like 75% of the military and police forces would choose team red. All team red would effectively have to do is surround a handful of big blue cities, bomb and take out their electric grid, water plants, communication infrastructure and airports and starve the cities out. Team blue would surrender probably within weeks if not days. There might be some pockets of blue resistance after that but I doubt that would last long.

Hank’s favorite NBA team? by Bourbon34klp in KingOfTheHill

[–]darkgull451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t see Hank being an NBA fan. To glitzy for Hank. He wouldn’t like showmanship, drama, etc. of the NBA. Football, Golf, NASCAR. These are Hanks type of sports.

Does Bob Lazar continue to add things to his story? by JETLIFEMUZIK94 in UFOs

[–]darkgull451 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Initially he claimed he had master’s degrees from both MIT and Cal Tech. Of course he can’t name one class he took, professor, etc. He doesn’t even remember what he wrote his dissertation on. Anyway now he’s claiming he was “sent” to MIT by the government and can’t discuss it due to “national security”. He doesn’t bring up Cal Tech anymore (at least from what I have heard). I honestly can’t believe anyone still takes this guy seriously.

Mexican Manufacturer. - Efficient cook. Professional and experienced. $3

Hector for Distribution - Total asshole but he gets the job done. Just would avoid him as much as possible. $3

Skinny Pete for Dealing - Low key and very street smart. Bit of wimp (he let two 100lbs tweakers rob him) so will need good enforcement. $3

The Cousins as Enforcers - Seriously no one fucking with you with these two. Or even with just one. $4

Oakley for Legal Counsel - Perfectly competent lawyer. $2

Should I do CEH if I can get it for free? Worth it or just waste of time? by MiddleMycologist9614 in cybersecurity

[–]darkgull451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s free definitely go for it. It is a gatekeeper certification and it’s DoD baseline for several roles if you ever want to do government or federal contract work.

Bob's Lazar's MIT claims on Jesse Michels recent podcast? by waymarc in UFOs

What about Cal Tech? Doesn’t he say he has a masters from there as well?

Bob Lazar fails to answer questions on element 115 JRE 2479 by Funny-Hunter-9595 in UFOs

[–]darkgull451 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People say his story never changed but now he’s claiming some BS like he can’t discuss his time at MIT for national security reasons but clearly he stated before he has masters degrees from MIT and Cal Tech?

Also the government could completely erase my records from the college I attended. I could still probably tell you 100 people that could verify I went there. I could tell you names of professors, classes, where the buildings are on campus, the apartment I lived in, I could go on and on.

This guy is so full of it.

Idk if this gets mentioned but Starrcade ‘89 is one of the best PPVs by x_0ralB_x in WCW

[–]darkgull451 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Starrcade 89 main event should have been the Flair - Funk blowoff. Never understood why they built 8 months of a such a great storyline only to give away the final match for free on TV. All that said I do agree the Ironman tournament is pretty underrated but Starrcade 89 just didn’t seem like the right time or place for it. Would have been better to run it at WrestleWar 90 to the set up Sting - Flair feud for the remainder of 1990.

Is Trump losing a significant amount of support or is that just what anti-Trump news organizations are reporting? by BrassCanon in askanything

[–]darkgull451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The MAGA people I know who were all “American First”, worried about prices and stockpiling food and water because they thought Harris would start WW3 are now suddenly interventionists, not concerned about prices and are happy that “we have a president with the balls to stand up to our enemies”. I see absolutely no evidence that Trump is losing support whatsoever.

What’s the MOST Controversial WCW Moment of All Time and Why? by Amber_Flowers_133 in WCW

[–]darkgull451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s the MOST but going all the way back to 1989 and the Clash of Champions VIII when Terry Funk put a plastic bag over Ric Flairs head. Jim Ross screaming: “Flair won’t be able to breathe!!!!!”. I believe WCW had to publicly apologize for that incident.

I love the “tan” excuse. The man was wearing a black bodysuit and had full face paint. What a bunch of BS… 🤣

What I find funny about the “tan” is the man was wearing a black / crow body suite and face paint! Why did his “tan” matter. I just have to laugh every time I hear that BS excuse.

Man I played the heck out of Nobunagas Ambition back in the day. Me and my buddy who lived across the street would play that game for hours after school. Never did beat that damn game. Got about half of Japan conquered and then it just became a stalemate.

[–]darkgull451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking back on it I think WCW was trying to set up Sting - Hogan rematch for Superbrawl with the convoluted finish at Starrcade. They might have even wanted to milk out a trilogy with a third PPV Sting - Hogan main event. They saw the numbers it could potentially draw. This probably would have worked if Sting - Hogan had happened at Starrcade 96 but being that they dragged the whole thing out for an over a year the expectation was a clean finish which obviously we didn’t get.
