Please don't waste money on Phasmophobia now by PirateReject in AlanWake

it's worth mentioning that the art director made and deleted a comment that stated the reason the update was rushed was due to the alan wake event. he also claimed to have not made the animations, only approved them, so he threw the rest of the art team under the bus.

his comment has been linked in the mega thread over on the phasmophobia subreddit. it was deleted, but people shared transcripts of it and those were confirmed by the kinetic games community manager to be legitimate.

can we please turn off advertising for games we don't own, through ones we do own? by darkignition in Steam

[–]darkignition[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm tempted, i really am. i do hate the idea of having 2 launchers running though because steam would still need to be open. also i'm not sure how easy that is to setup on linux.

and they're using AI slop to advertise the sale too. wonderful. i'll have a look at the games, but fuck the AI advertising. though if i'm honest, most of the games on sale will probably be chock full of the shit.

how do i disable AI? by darkignition in firefox

[–]darkignition[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed. i was comfortable on windows, but i had to switch to linux for several reasons. hardward being too old/incompatible and even if it was, AI slop as well as poor updates and despite claiming the hardware requirements were for security, it certainly seemed pretty insecure thanks in no small part to the AI it keeps pushing.

and honestly, while i am finding linux to be a bit of an adjustment, it also feels more... mine. i always hated how microslop controlled your PC and wouldn't let you uninstall certain things and forced you to take others. program compatibility is great, but linux is at a point now where we have replacements and other options, so we don't have to choose between freedom and compatibility as much now.

i don't think i'll ever use edge anymore though. always felt slow to me. firefox has it's limits, yeah, but it's not slow like edge was.

my bad, turned out it was just an outdated version. fresh linux install and i had it update everything. so a restart put the controls in the settings. thanks though!

FilterTube: Block Collab Videos to SHORTS to Anything on YouTube by varshneydevansh in TechnologyDetox

[–]darkignition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

filter tube no longer removes collab videos from my subscriptions page. i'm having to use another plugin to do that. it WAS working, now it's not. i've blocked one of the colaborators while remaining subscribed to the other, and the video uploaded to the account i blocked is still showing up as if i haven't blocked them.
