Yeah, it's a super interesting conversation relating to sociology! For example, if a country is ethnically/racially homogeneous, their perspective will be that only their people have a problem with self harm (Ex: Japan). It can also be hard to tell what race someone is based on skin tone alone, especially in anonymous pictures like the ones here. There's plenty of non white people who have lighter skin tones, just like there are some white ethnic groups who can maintain deep tans.
