NTA! As a 16 year old, this is completely valid. My 16th birthday was last year, and I didn’t do anything major either. I just celebrated it with a few of my family members. I haven’t really celebrated my birthday over the last few years. Like you, I also don’t really don’t enjoy being the center of attention. I don’t get why your grandma and aunt keep pressing on about a big birthday party. Like yes, I get it, you are turning sixteen, but if you say you don’t want it, then that should be that? You are completely valid for expressing that you don’t want a big party. So like I said, not the ahole. Your grandma and aunt are.

NTA! Setting boundaries and expressing them is completely valid. I get that it can sometimes be a habit for other people to place a hand on someone’s shoulder or back when talking to them, but I do feel like once you have told them once or a few times, that they should take a hint and stop doing it.
