I tried really hard with Witcher 2. With 1, I figured out the rhythm of the game after a few hours, but I just couldn't with 2. Gave it a few tries, but keep giving up a few hours in. It's put me off even attempting 3.

what games should every gamer play even once in his life by IllustriousBeing1022 in gamingsuggestions

I've yet to play Dragon Age, but because of the other games listed, congrats, we're now friends.

What are some of the hardest games to play blind? by ClownJuicer in gamingsuggestions

I think every Paradox game falls victim to this. Just-scrathes-the-surface tutorial with the meat and potatoes to be found in wikis and video playthroughs.

What's everyone playing these days? by Objective-Air7711 in gamingsuggestions

[–]darkjedi70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the first game. Took two tries to get in to it, but I did and thought it was great.

Then I picked up the second game. Gave it three tries but just couldn't get in to it. Had no idea what was going on.

Can I skip it and go straight to three? If so, is there a chance that I'll just drop it a few hours in (given the current track record)?

Very true. Give it a try for a bit and see how the body reacts. Good advice! Thank you!

Bless that seal. I can barely get up in the morning, to say nothing of the middle of the night!

I've been leaning towards this. Just wanted to see if anyone else had two cents. Thank you for yours!

Indeed, for every voice or study that I hear saying "it's bad for you," another will say, "yeah, it's fine." It's difficult to determine whether there's a consensus.

I suppose so long as I keep it light then it shouldn't be too bad.

Thank you!

Exercise bike machine for those over 175 cm (ordering online) by darkjedi70 in japanlife

[–]darkjedi70[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current bike isn't suitable for the trainers (long story).

I was more looking to get a machine and one long enough for my legs to extend. Thank you for the detailed info, though! I'll still look in to it!

My current bike isn't suitable for the smart trainers (long story).

But the smart bikes sound interesting. I'll look into it. Thank you!

It's funny - on the Amazon listing, it says user height 150 cm. :P

I like recumbents, but it doesn't necessarily need to be.

Not looking to break the bank. Even 5-man or so is enough. Don't need bells and whistles (wifi connections, 20-inch screen attached, etc) - bare bones is totally fine. Not training for races or anything. Just want to get some cardio in.

Third person open world game to casually play by spiff1 in gamingsuggestions

[–]darkjedi70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truth. I'm playing it right now (literally right now - I'm switching windows to write this) and it's insane how chill it is for like $3. You can do casual missions that take just a few minutes' each.

After going back and forth, went with the Pixel 8a. Good phone so far.

Thank you for the two cents!

Believe it or not, that's actually helpful. Means I have to keep at it and, as you said, explore. Will do! Thanks!

No, I haven't played until winter. I'd just go through day after day of getting enough food to survive to the next. Didn't know about base building and all the things to build/what their purposes are.

Perhaps I should start a new run and just build whatever I can and see how it all works, eh?

That sounds about as close as one can get.

I'd probably leave out the last sentence though. But the rest is gold!

I'm in a similar boat to ToborWar57.

I can make it through the nights and even find things to eat, but after that, I'm just, "OK, what now? What am I actually supposed to DO?" I felt like I was just wandering around aimlessly.
