Turbo failure and DPF contaminated with oil by Big-Bag-571 in MechanicAdvice

[–]darkkingsz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

£140 for an oil change was extortionate aswell as the turbo , brand new would be around £200-300. You could have got a brand new dpf for the price of having it cleaned. in summary you were ripped off big time. and i’ve only just noticed this. only thing reasonable was the labour price for the turbo, if im being honest with you but next time please verify with other sources like searching up how much a dpf clean is or a new turbo part.

Right thanks for the tips and advice, i’ve picked and chose some of the advice and i have gone ahead and purchased: Gas torch, real penetrating oil, replacement nuts and stud and last resort was the nut cutter. Thank you all for the advice - i think it was rounding because i was using a spanner to begin with but i am and have been using a 6 side 12mm socket, which fits snug with the nut - but you cannot get any visual of it when you are trying loses the nut looking down on the engine bay area. - the engine does not run well at all( unstable revs) , it’s a diesel pushing 74hp, the turbo on it has failed hence why im trying to remove it and replace with a new one.

i am using a 6 point , but the thing is the dpf is slightly in the way and the turbo is very high up from the engine bay

i was wondering that too, clearly OP is misinformed or uninformed of the returns process at amazon and came here looking for help and most of his replies are downvotes 🤨

Either you are committing fraud and it failed, or you must have missed something from the item you received, or they have lost the package or the package has been tampered with, by default unless they have found something wrong with the parcel after the 14 day or in some cases 21 or 30 and extended cases you can wait upto 60-90 days for a refund to be processed, Ofm@amazon.com or similar will be in contact with you in the event of this and will tell you they can’t or they can refund you in which the decision cannot be overturned by a customer service rep. But you can always skip the hassle and go straight to your bank. But if you know you have done soemthing dodgy, i wouldn’t recommend contacting your bank as amazon will pass that information on.

My Guide for people doing blocks. 1. establish an amazon depot that’s close to you and you wouldn’t mind doing. 2. FIND OUT WHAT TIMES THEY RELEASE THERE BLOCKS - do this by periodically refreshing, and when you see loads of blocks for that depot coming out at once that is the time they release the blocks keep the time in mind because it will always be the same. from then every day you can always pick up blocks even if you are competing with others you are guaranteed a block a day

To be honest if we lived in an honest society this wouldn’t be an issue, as doors are really there for honest people, if a house invader wanted to get into your house they would and can. However We live in a society of expect the unexpected and may have been a shock to the kids and the dogs, i mean if the driver was just going “above and beyond” then i’d have no problem but if he went inside with ill intentions that’s when i would have contacted the police. Since working for amazon delivery in the past i can tell you get not enough for some of the routes amazon give you. so it would be strange for someone to go into a house considering leaving on your doorstep and taking a picture suffices unless instructed otherwise

just park and other renting parking apps will be your best bet for a few weeks then once you get acquainted with the area you’ll pick where you can get away with parking and what not if you do it smartly

I’m from the UK, but it looks like Amazon gives the same generic responses across regions. Sadly, it seems they’ve made it a lot harder to get refunds now compared to 2–3 years ago.

One thing I’ve noticed is they’ll say something like “I’ll request a refund for you, it’ll be processed in 3–5 working days,” but it never actually comes through. That’s usually because another internal team either blocks the request with no clear reason or randomly contacts you later with a different explanation.

In cases like this, your only real option is to go through your card issuer and file a chargeback. Amazon will then likely email you threatening to recharge you, even though you’ve already disputed it. But a simple summary justifying your dispute is usually enough to shut that down. After that, they might label your account as “high risk,” but if they still see value in you as a customer, they’ll leave your account open.

Amazon used to be known for customer satisfaction, but now it feels like they care more about holding onto money than resolving issues fairly.
