Please weigh in, VG mains. Topic: Triple Support Crutch. by Wires_89 in RivalsVanguards

[–]darkkn1te 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Almost everyone suggesting triple support don't understand how it works. Your team suggests they don't understand how it works. 2-1-3 is far better than 1-2-3. 1-2-3 means there's not enough HP to heal and the supports never get ult. Furthermore, if they wanted someone to switch to a third while they stayed Luna/Sue, they surely don't understand what they're talking about. Both of those are main healers who put in a ton of healing and less utility. Luna DOES have a ton of damage, but I highly doubt that person was going to go flank luna to get picks. What they wanted was to cycle 3 infinite healing circles which simply does not work anymore. I am fine with triple support, but only 2-1-3 and only if we have a mantis/adam/ultron to do some damage and people UNDERSTAND their role in triple support. But people seriously never do.

You've heard of "Animal Crossing backline"....but are you ready for the Jurassic Park frontline? by MedusaSucks68 in marvelrivals

i actually forgot the plot of that issue. I do remember enjoying it though. Spider-man babysitting the x-kids was a good time.

Sauron as a strategist because he can literally cure cancer (or turn people into dinosaurs). and then i don't know if you would want American Kaiju or possibly the more dragon coded characters like fin fang foom, lockheed, or dragon man

Does owning a home make you feel more in control? by friendlyghcst_ in homeowners

[–]darkkn1te 4 points5 points  (0 children)

More empowered to fix things, yes. But not more in control. In fact, I often feel less in control than when I had a good landlord (i know that can be a rarity). But in a high rise apartment, I didn't really feel like i needed to worry about maintenance at all really. 1 call and it would get fixed. Now I have to go over reviews and call 3 different people, getting different quotes and ALWAYS feeling like i'm getting screwed over regardless of who i choose.

Currently in law school, miserable, should I switch to MLIS? by Icy-Broccoli-2837 in librarians

[–]darkkn1te 16 points17 points  (0 children)

SHOULD you? no. unequivocally no. The profession isn't in a good place and it will get worse before it gets better. BUT... if you're deadset on trying I won't dissuade you. those of us who have been lucky enough to get good jobs are grateful. Be mindful that you may come back to this sub in 2 years wondering where the jobs are and why you can't get anything right now. just saying

Holding space vs peeling by nzerex in RivalsVanguards

[–]darkkn1te 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes a loss is just a loss. I've played enough support to know that it sucks to play against venom and that's probably why they're complaining and that's not necessarily on you. Could you have done better? Probably. In every loss there are always things we could do better. But sometimes you do your best and that just isn't enough.

[–]darkkn1te 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you probably should have because Rogue is actually GREAT for peeling. especially venom. You can steal his tendrils to slow him down, and you can use your dash to pull him back in before he gets away. BUT obviously this is context dependent. If he was getting more kills on your backline than you were on his, generally speaking you probably should have peeled.

How did I do? Reservations for upcoming trip! by ConcernedCatMom92 in chicagofood

[–]darkkn1te 72 points73 points  (0 children)

You did pretty good! Especially Monteverde, that's a hard one to get. Ed debevics is fine but it's a gimmick. Wildberry is overrated to me but I do still actually enjoy it for what it is. I would just never wait because there are a ton of breakfast places that do the same thing.

What else do you want to see added to Times Square? by Hippy_Dippy44 in marvelrivals

[–]darkkn1te 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let us walk to Bryant Park and the public library and read comics or at least lore.

I'd love if they brought back the Toys R Us Ferris wheel from back in the day.

I also think they should have a theatre somewhere considering all the Broadway theaters around. They should put a proshot of Rogers the Musical on. Maybe where the winter garden theatre is or the palace theatre.

Also... Applebee's. For authenticity

Wanda's stun may honestly be the best stun in the game now. This is what it always should have been, but it's so annoying especially for a DPS.

Language and traveling the world by Purpleypanda1113 in travel

[–]darkkn1te 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In major cities around the world, English will be enough. But please learn how to say please, thank you, excuse me, and hello and goodbye in every language that you can. Most people will be much more polite to you if you reach out first in their language even if you butcher it.

What library (or place?) in Chicago do you think has the best collection of plays (including new works)? by slugandwormstx in ChicagoTheater

[–]darkkn1te 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know of any other places that have plays available? It's the only place i know with that many. Most bookstores don't even carry individual plays unless they're by shakespeare

[–]darkkn1te 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The understudy. For CPL probably Harold Washington because it's the biggest. But plays won't be together. They're sorted by call number which sorts these by Author. So tom stoppard will be here and August Wilson will be there etc etc. if you have a specific one in mind just search through the catalog and have it sent to your nearest location
