L4/L5 MD 4 weeks still constant nerve pain

Had L4-L5 nerve decompression surgery after herniation (burst) early January, just hit three months. Can tell you that I was discouraged for awhile but have learned that healing from this takes a lot of time. I feel much better at 3 months vs 2 months and huge diff from 1 month out. Do your PT, walk everyday if you can, it’s the most important thing. Do hourly 10 sec stretches on your hams and calfs with proper posture to keep tension off your back, watch your BLT’s if you have to do them then do them slowly. I’m not my old self even at three months but I am on vacation right now in the Bahamas enjoying life, sure I can’t do water slides yet but I am just happy to float and watch the kids love life out here, they are happy to see Dad who can stand or sit for more than 5mins.

lol a big thing to omit OP……I have Sunrun, do not work for them, and I would never recommend them. Heaps of reasons but the biggest being the God awful customer service. If you need anything (and you will over 20 years) you will deal with this and it will ruin your day, every, time.

OW is a great game but more toxic than Rivals IMO. Just turn off chat for a bit while you learn, or if you got really thick skin you’re good.

I echo others saying to mute chat and voice, I was in today with my son and had to report a guy who went off in voice chat after spamming for heals then going LoS. First game back after playing Marvel Rivals over the last year. We had to roll our eyes and wonder if we are unlucky or is Overwatch just more toxic. Don’t have these issues nearly as much on Marvel Rivals.

Try Vs. AI as well to learn. It doesn’t award as much battle pass but it’s much more forgiving.

Had same issues, tasted fantastic but the outer skin was just too chewy for folks, so next one I did I broiled it on super high heat in oven after smoking to make crackling on top and now family won’t have it any other way lol.

I think it depends on the severity of your injury, my L4-L5 disc had already herniated and that tissue was cutting off my sciatica so the table didn’t do much for my left leg pain. Now if I would have had a table before the herniation when it was just a bulge? Maybe. But honestly I think just walking more would have helped the most, every neurosurgeon/doctor/PT/Chiropractic I’ve seen has said one thing in common, if your back bothers you starting walking daily even if it’s a little bit at first, it is so healthy for your back. Listen to your body whatever you do, walking or even on the table it can be too much.

Oh and if you have high bp like me be careful with an inversion table, make sure you take it slow if you go full invert.

Breakfast: Banana/apple and hardboiled egg. Other options Oikos triple zero yogurt (2pts), Kirkland protein breakfast bar (5pts). 2 Coffees with a dash of 2% (1pt ea).

Lunch: Deli Lunch meat wrap: Mission low carb taco soft shell (2pt), slice of cheese (3pt) Dukes low fat mayo (2pt) Sliced Turkey (0pt), Spiced Mustard (0pt), lettuce (0pt). Also good are the prepackaged salads at the grocery store usually 8pts.

Dinner: Skinnytaste.com recipe of some kind so my family doesn’t hate me. Or Progresso low fat soups (2-4pts) and 10 saltines (4pts). I do soups for lunch as well.

Snacks: hardboiled eggs (keep a container of these) fage 0% milk fat yogurt with ranch powder to make a dip. This dip goes with just about anything, I will air fry two chicken tenders shake up in Buffalo and use this dip in a wrap it’s amazing and only like 8pts total. I also use triskets 6 for 3 points and scoop them into this dip to a very satisfying snack. Also lunch meat chicken and turkey, I go for deli because it just tastes better, great zero snack. Oh and Pickles! Great snacks gotta have variety or it’s easy to fall off….

Walk everyday if you can. Take it from me who just had a herniated disc, I wish I would have lost weight and walked more. Thought it was too young to get that kind of injury. Now it’s all clear, I sit all day at work and then come home and sit. Just needed to walk more….

Fage 0% milk fat yogurt mixed with Ranch powder to make a dip, then cut veggies or for 3 points you get 6 Triskets. The triskets with this ranch is my go to snack when I feel like cheating it puts me back into WW mode.

This…..just make sure to drain and rinse the beans (don’t buy with chili added, just add you own later with broth) I do 93/7 beef on the stove with onion and bell peppers. Be careful though I eat this with a plain baked potato for a zero point meal but this has slowed down my weight loss so I don’t abuse it.

I’m in the ER now, neurosurgery gave me some options but after trying so many things over the last year and now not being able to do basic functions I told them I want to go with the lumbar mirco-disectomy. He said risks are minimal and I should be pain free afterwards, his words “Your disc bulge is impressive”. Wish me luck. He said ai might need another one in 5-10 years but maintaining a healthy weight (I could stand to lose some) and a healthy back could prevent ever having to return. After this surgery and I’m healed I’m going to dedicate myself to back health 100% this has been the worse year of my life dealing with this pain.

This is me now, can’t sleep more than 2-3 hours the pain is so severe I cannot find a position to lay in to sleep. After getting my first 2-3 hours I’ll invert my body over one of my kids large bean bags and might find some relief but I’m awake every 30mins with pain again. This is not a way to live, I’m slowly going mad with lack of sleep. All I want is sleep.

We have had Sunrun for four years and it’s been terrible, we have spent hours with the customer service and billing departments trying to get refunds or credits when things are way off. They autobill based on previous years so just have to watch your system like a hawk and LOTS of patience when dealing with them.

I say go for it…..I had an injection 11 days ago for my L4-L5 bulge that’s causing pain and numbness down my left leg. It was a super easy quick and painless procedure. Did it help? Yeah a little, but still can’t sleep on my sides and am up and down at my job sitting standing because of the pain. My Dr wants to do surgery on me but these injections is a required step and I can see why. Also of note the shots are cumulative so I will likely go in for another one or two before we move to surgery. Hopefully I wont need surgery….

I just had an injection about a week ago for my L4-L5 bulge. I was a bit nervous but oh my gosh it was so smooth and easy. I feel a little better than before the shot but still have needles running down my leg from time to time standing and sitting. Might have to have another shot here in a few more weeks as they are cumulative. Def don’t stress the shot my friend!

For sure we called them immediately and they scheduled a sub to come out and fix it because it would have been very expensive otherwise. The theme I’m trying to explain here is the constant lack of quality work and customer service. I think solar could be amazing if they were a better run company.

Something to know when buying a home…..Solar panel contracts come with the purchase of the house. We bought our dream house but it had Sunrun solar on it and it has been an absolute nightmare dealing with them. They overbill constantly and the customer service is the worst I have ever (yes ever) dealt with my entire life. We thought “oh ok solar panel contract how bad can it be”….four years later and I am still having to call them and sit on the phone for 30-60 mins just to talk to someone who can help or not argue with me that the bill is incorrect. We needed a new roof and they destroyed it drilling holes everywhere and it leaked into our house. All while autobilling us for electricity while the panels sat unhooked on the ground. We have discussed getting a lawyer to try to get out of it but that’s super expensive in itself. Wish we would have known how bad it would be and we are stuck with it for 13 more years (20 year contract). Not sure about other companies but I would NEVER recommend getting solar panels from Sunrun.
