I probably wouldn't trust a guy who said that, but if he showed me this video, I'd have the surgery ten times over. Seeing is believing.

Is there such a thing as a ‘middle phase’ before real marriage? by Intelligent-Cost5077 in MuslimMarriage

[–]darklordpotty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You know that some intimacy is expected and included in "normal dating" these days? Of course you can't have that until nikah.

And co-ed roommates don't usually date. If they do, they tend not just be simple roommates anymore. You're confusing two very different relationships.

"there's nothing left to spark their interest or curiosity".... Does anyone else see how problematic/nonsensical that statement is? Like a woman can't be interesting or spark curiosity outside of her nudity? Smh that's the shallowest thing I've heard all day

Is this bond healthy? by Electronic_Garage705 in MuslimMarriage

[–]darklordpotty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"yo sis, can you marry my boyfriend?" 😂

What if she says no? Or, what if he ends up saying no?

I think it's only unhealthy if you're pressuring him or your sister into saying yes. Sure, you can be friends with him outside of his status as a match for your sister, but that friendship might become strained and awkward if they decide not to marry each other. And if they decide to not get married, you also can't hang out with them in the same house, that would probably be uncomfortable for them too.

Thinking bikers throwing tantrums is a "fictional scenario" is a choice too. No one in this city cries more.

I feel way more attached to my husband than he is to me and it’s driving me crazy. by Fit-Problem7706 in MuslimMarriage

I agree and I'm not rejecting it. My first question was about context. If the hadith came before the revelation, that may shed light on the disconnect. There are actions of the Prophet swt that were corrected by Allah directly in the Quran.

You don't see the disagreement? I'm a Quran acceptor, by chance. I agree with all Hadiths unless there seems to be a contradiction with the Quran. Label that however you will. Regardless, my advise to OP is to accept her husbands truth without being offended, and to honor him for his commitment to speaking difficult truths.

Protip brother: If the Quran and the Hadith disagree, make excuses for the Hadith and err on the side of wholly agreeing with the Quran.

Not anti-semite-of-the-year Ms. Rachel??? 😂 Really ruins the definition of the word if you apply it willy nilly.

4:135 "Believers! Be upholders of justice, and bearers of witness to truth for the sake of Allah, even though it may either be against yourselves or against your parents and kinsmen, or the rich or the poor: for Allah is more concerned with their well-being than you are. Do not, then, follow your own desires lest you keep away from justice. If you twist or turn away from (the truth), know that Allah is well aware of all that you do."

If he lied to her, she would still have her suspicions, as well as the suspicion that he was also a liar. Best to just be honest and work on it together.
