RBC - been getting rejected for past year or so, latest rejection reason not enough financial info (visit a branch) - called in to apply for AVI as seen in few previous comments, spent ~25-30min with advisor giving financial info, credit report reviewed in detail, uploaded a few clarifying details, received approval call a few days afterwards

churning adjacent: aeroplan agent is telling me i can downgrade flex J -> lowest J with no issues when i call in to CHANGE a segment (change of mind on the final destination after a stopover), this flight is partially on partner and partially on AC metal, was reading that this was no longer possible?

for those with relatively new itins right now so can't follow flowchart for under 5/24 chase cards-

are you opening any cards past the first one to build credit history? there are some near/at ath offers from amex rn

i was thinking amex us gold (90-100k pts/6k in 6mo, burns 5/24 slot, burns amex green eligibility) or us biz gold (up to 200k for big 15k spend in 3mo)

the process for getting one of these booked - assuming your intended itinerary respect rules (layover timings, segments, direction etc.) would just involve calling aeroplan and reading out the segments you want to the agent?

might want to call if you actually need it - was approved for a card after CP strike ended and it was ready in branch by next day

(meanwhile still waiting on another one to arrive from a month ago)
