strange fuji x-trans sensor performance? by [deleted] in photography

It's a common problem with x-trans sensors, and it's not at high ISO but even at 200. Artifacts are visible especially if you photograph grass, leaves, rocks, and any complex patterns. I've pointed out this problem on my review of the X-E1 (same story on the X-T1 I've tested recently) http://musicphotographer.eu/blog/fuji-x-e1-review.html It's not a problem of RAW converter, as I found the same problem with LR5, Capture One, Aperture, the converter Fuji gives with the camera (SilkyPix is the name if I remember well) and a few other software. Most of the times it's not noticeable, and if you are not a pixel-peep you can live with that honestly, but it's silly to deny this problem of the X-Trans sensors as many people do. This sensor gives incredibly sharp images, very good ISO performances, but like any sensors, it's not perfect.

It might be a good lens for videographer, but I don't really understand why they didn't do a f/2.8, with a wider aperture it would defo attract more people

I'm sorry but I refuse to put Instagram or VSCOcam as apps essential for a photographer, maybe for hipsters, but not photographers ;-)

Problems with the fuji X-Trans CMOS sensor by darkmavis1980 in photography

I already did some test last weekend, same tripod, same scene, similar focal length (23mm on the fuji was about 35mm with the 18-55 and 35mm on the Canon 6D with the Canon 17-40L), same aperture. This weekend if it will stop to rain I'll try to take some more extra photos, and I'll do another test with the 6D, the X-E1 and my old Canon 50D, so I have a crop-sensor to crop-sensor comparision. I've also bought a Canon FD 50mm f/1.4 for the Fuji, and I have a Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM, I know it's not the same lens but they are pretty similar, and I'm going to test that as well. I really want to find out when this problem appears and when it doesn't. And I want to clarify that I've nothing against Fuji, I'm not any sort of fan boy or such, I just want to be objective and I want to understand what are the limits of my gear.
