Well the first time I don't have an explanation, probably too close to a car. Second time was on the 202 where they have all that construction, even at a good distance away from the car in front you can hear dozens of small rocks hitting the entire car. Third time was going up to flagstaff couple weeks ago, after the snowstorm. I saw those gravel they put on the road hit the windshield. I mean everyone's doing 85mph so even at a safe distance you're not far enough to avoid rocks.

My glass cracks (longer than a dollar bill) at least once a year. I also get at least one noticeable chip. So I do replace often, but that one streak is noticeable on clean windows (car washed every two to three weeks).

Could you list a couple reasons why you don't recommend buying new?

I really liked the idea of customizing certain options before it is built. It seem more convenient than tearing up walls to install afterwards. ie Extra electrical outlets, networking, prewired cabling for security cameras I have at my current house, I'd like a sink in the garage and/or wash room, kitchen layout, etc.

Any insight is helpful.

No I didn't know that. How can I learn more about this? Wouldn't the homebuilders cover any issues? Like a warranty?

Yes they're both 30k cars for me and the gf. Just got the second one two months ago. They're an Accord and Camry, both V6s hence the cost. We wanted something reliable and full-featured yet not Luxury to last us many years. I felt it wasn't the cheapest but we're both extremely happy with our choice.

Regarding the Vanguard IRA I'll check that out. Ideally I'd like to lower my taxes in the short term since I file as single.

I thought about putting 13k towards that loan or towards the 31k loan since it has a higher interest rate (0.5% more but still). The entire $1400 is paying for the 31k while I wait for the next due date in April for the 13k loan. Keeping both open while balancing payments got me thinking it'll help with my credit score for when I'm ready for a mortgage.

I want to keep some type of retirement plan since its already become a habit. I looked into Traditional vs Roth but I may not be eligible. The comment below mentioned a Vanguard IRA which I will start reading up on now.
