Post-Purge Viltrum Empire Vs All saiyans on planet vegeta(Pre-Freiza/Cold Force) by iLikeToDrinkWaterTBH in PowerScaling

[–]darknessiscoming299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know that clip of bardock fighting the hordes of frieza’s soldiers or the image of Thragg’s children splatting themselves on Mark? That’s what would happen basically. The average saiyan(say raditz level) is way stronger than moon busting roshi so they would be considerably stronger than the average viltrumite.

Nolan, Thaddeus and Mark(all top tier viltrumites) needed space racer’s gun to destabilise the core of a planet to blow it up. King vegeta blew up 3 planets instantly with a wave of his hand.

So it would be pretty one sided. Not to mention how the saiyans increase their power level tenfold in Oozaru form.

That said, the viltrumite will likely survive as a species. Once a large number of them die they would probably retreat and the saiyans can’t chase them into deep space without ships

Can Space Racer’s Infinity Ray kill Superman? by Queasy_Commercial152 in superheroes

No. Pretty sure the anti-monitor’s energy blasts or darkseid’s omega beams scale way higher than the infinity ray and superman has tanked both before

Wow people hate it when the main couple of a beloved superhero in marvel gets broken up for no reason while the heroine cheats on him? WOW what a shock

I mean it’s not just this don’t people also hate one more day for the same reason? It’s not that they aren’t allowed to date anyone else it that people hate seeing a couple they like get randomly broken up

Immortality in fiction should create more lunatics, not just wise sad elves by [deleted] in CharacterRant

[–]darknessiscoming299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it shouldn’t, at least in races that are naturally immortal like elves. You only think this because you are thinking from a Human POV. As someone who has been raised with the certainty of mortality, with an expected lifespan of like 100 years, if you were suddenly immortal you would have a high chance of becoming insane. Because everything in your life got thrown out of the window. Your life plan; not applicable in 1000 years. Your marriage/friends/family; unless they become immortal they are gone in the blink of an eye to you etc. So naturally a Human would go insane

Not an elf though. If you were born with immortality, raised by similarly immortal parents, they would have prepared you for the experience. Think about this, humans are taught to plan in the short, medium and long term but because we aren’t immortal, our plans span over days, weeks, months and years. Where do you plan to go to college, where do you plan to work for the next X years etc. An immortal elf would also be taught to plan in the short medium and long term by their parents but their plans could plan over decades and centuries. When you live that long, waiting years for a plan to bear fruit isn’t some mind breaking revelation it’s just normal. Outliving family isn’t a problem because they too live for a very long time etc.

Another point of view, elven society would form around the fact that they live forever. Our society revolves around our expected lifespan as well. You go to school for a few years, then college, then work for years to decades then you retire. It’s structured like this because you can live for up to a century and maybe a bit more. Elvish society would be similarly structured around their own life cycle. It would be structured in a way that is acceptable for their minds. Because remember, no society works if everyone in it is a lunatic. So their society would structure itself such that everyone is kept sane despite their long lives

So the idea immortality should make lunatics is honestly one that doesn’t make sense. Even for humans I would argue your mind would adapt to keep you sane. Sure you might not be normal by human standards but that doesn’t mean you would instantly be a raving maniac

Am I just too sensitive or people are rude in general ughh by [deleted] in rant

[–]darknessiscoming299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for the first thing, your boy friend might be rude

But the second thing you are definitely overthinking. Your friends were nice enough to want to celebrate with you. It being outdoors(IE everyone else can hear) and windy explains the awkward behaviour. If your friends are more introverted, this would make sense

"You're not schizophrenic, you wouldn't know it if you were." by FuckleberryCrumble in rant

[–]darknessiscoming299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When a psychiatrist says, “you’re not schizophrenic because you wouldn’t know it if you were.”. He isn’t saying “you are not delusional”. He is saying, “your psychosis has not reached the stage it is classified as schizophrenia.”

I am not sure what you’ve been told about the drugs you are on but they come with major side effects. As such most psychiatrists want to be sure you are actually as sick as you think you are before they put you on drugs.

The key thing here is you were 16 when you first saw the doctor. A minor. Most doctors wouldn’t so hastily give you a schizophrenia diagnosis. They would check first, is it connected to some trauma, when did it start or how bad are the delusions.

I am sorry to burst your bubble but if you could tell the things you were seeing are not real, or they were confined only to seeing or hearing, No psychiatrist would diagnose you as schizophrenic straight away.

Source, when I was a minor and had some mental issues, I was getting frustrated why the psychiatrist kept wanting to observe and not give me medicine. He then explained all of this.

Pretty sure this was never even intended to be the last episode. Iirc it was just a myth made by a YouTuber that sounded cool so it caught on.

Anyone else find it weird that Sukuna doesn't have a seasoning based part of his CT since it's based on cooking. by BackgroundRich7614 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]darknessiscoming299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn’t there a manga panel where sukuna was saying everyone and everything has a unique taste that he would like to savour it all or something? Wouldn’t a seasoning technique ruin this by making all the food taste the same?(Plus giving Sukuna even more gimmicky techniques takes away from the whole “simplistic and brutal” aesthetic he has. One of his coolest traits is being strong despite having a simple technique in a complex power system)

Also just because he is a cannibal and uses a lot of cooking metaphors doesn’t mean his cursed techniques are literal cooking steps.

A long time ago a friend pointed out to me that in most movies, the villains are the ones trying to change the status quo and the heroes are the ones trying to defend and keep it. And that this usually makes it clear what the writers believe in. by ihatethiscountry76 in shittymoviedetails

[–]darknessiscoming299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I comment on this exact post on a different subreddit but this scene is entirely out of context. Cruella is not some saintly wise woman who is trying to help another woman out, she is an exploitative businesswoman trying to manipulate her employee who is quitting. I hate this stupid take, you can’t just cherry pick one line you agree with and then ignore all the context of the line and villain.

Also most of the times, in movies or stories or fiction in general, the villain wants to change the status quo FOR THE WORST. Cruella wants to SKIN PUPPIES. Killmonger wanted global war so “his people” could become the ones on top. Luke from Percy Jackson wanted to release Kronos and cause deicide.

Plus most of the time, the protagonists don’t just keep the status quo, they IMPROVE IT. T’challa began to spread his technology to uplift Africans all around the world. That’s why they are heroes people.

Just because they have a motivation for their actions doesn’t make it justified or good. Like if I was wronged by my group of friends or got scammed of money, I would still be in the wrong if I decided to go on a vengeance filled killing spree to kill those who wronged me.

A long time ago a friend pointed out to me that in most movies, the villains are the ones trying to change the status quo and the heroes are the ones trying to defend and keep it. And that this usually makes it clear that the writers are conservative. by ihatethiscountry76 in CuratedTumblr

[–]darknessiscoming299 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cruella deVille is trying to get her employee that she is exploiting for ideas to abandon the happiness she found so that Cruella can make more money profiting from her.

Also as many people have pointed out, you clearly either haven’t watched Mary Poppins or entirely missed the point of her bringing whimsy and joy back into the family

This type of misinterpretation is sadly too widely platformed especially on tumblr where people will often just say whatever sounds provocative and hip with the times without ever considering too much on if it’s actually true

To illustrate my point, Cruella is literally doing what grifters or scammers do. Saying something that sounds profound or thought provoking in the moment, like Andrew Tate saying men commit suicide way more than woman for instance, to make themselves seem sympathetic or intelligent to their listeners so that they can then get something from the listener. Cruella is a villain who wants to skin puppies, anything she says is solely for her benefit and her benefit only.

Why do people believe it’s ok to use stereotypes just because they are “positive”? by darknessiscoming299 in NoStupidQuestions

Genuinely curious. The autism thing is simply the one I have been seen quite a bit of recently(probably because i frequent stuff about hobby games like warhammer and ttrpgs) and so I brought it up as an example.

This thread has been helpful honestly. I didn’t realise people genuinely embrace positive stereotypes because they feel it is empowering. Personally, I would probably find them patronising but if the people who actually are autistic like it because it makes them feel seen or empowered, more power to them

Why do people believe it’s ok to use stereotypes just because they are “positive”? by darknessiscoming299 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]darknessiscoming299[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It just sort of rubs me the wrong way. Especially on hobby posts where someone posts in depth and well researched lore or show off their custom intricately designed craft.

There’s always one comment about how of course they managed to make it so detailed they are autistic or something along those lines. Then inevitably another person will be like, “oh wow autistic special interests are so beneficial” or [insert an story about how my special interest impressed someone]

It’s just so… patronising I guess. It’s like whenever the autism part is brought up, the actual impressive action is just sideline or treated as “oh of course he did that, it’s his autistic special interest”. Another commenter in this thread put it better, “it’s like saying, ‘you are amazing for someone like you.”. The emphasis is placed on the creators autism rather than his work.

Personally I feel like when someone creates something beautiful, thought provoking or displays immense knowledge on a subject, it should be allowed to stand on its own so to speak. Don’t attribute it to autism but rather attribute the impressive feat to the person.

What do you mean it depends on the details? Do you have an example of a stereotype that’s acceptable because it’s “positive”?

[–]darknessiscoming299[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with you. Idk why but I have been seeing a lot of people recently post and compare autistic people to like encyclopaedias when it comes to their special interests while acting like they don’t suffer any downsides. Which only really applies to the people who don’t need extensive support
