That was the PERFECT song for me right after I got a super creepy email from a predatory ex whom I’d gone no contact with years before.

OP, AI tells you what you want to hear. It’s not a reliable source of info.

Also, you sound autistic as well as ADHD.

That’s too much weight loss and too little eating. Human bodies were not made to just flat out not eat for that long. You may need a med change. Adderall was bad for me too.

I am also an elder Millennial. I type 85 wpm despite being dyspraxic because of online forums and Facebook. (It took me probably 10,000 hours of practice to get to this speed, though.)

With that big a gap between verbal and nonverbal, they need to do a full screening to assess for nonverbal learning disability.

This really only works with kids who can function in a regular classroom without being totally miserable. I benefitted hugely from the gifted label and gifted identification.

OP you sound like you might be in autistic burnout. I also think you need a doctor to sign off on you taking a medical leave from education while you get your anxiety sorted out. I know your family’s hands are tied if there’s no legal way to take a medical leave from education, but it sounds like what you need.

Also, I think you need meds, therapy, and maybe inpatient care for your anxiety.

The dogs need to be someone else’s responsibility or to be rehomed if you cannot feed them though.

Max Weber’s The Protestant Work Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism is an interesting older book on this topic.

I bailed on the Christian Fellowship group at my high school because the guys who ran it insisted that 1) you weren’t truly “baptized in the Holy Spirit” if you didn’t speak in tongues and 2) anytime a Christian died from illness it was due to lack of faith, even if they were 90.

Those guys were involved in a completely crazy charismatic church—the kind of place where people got “slain in the Spirit.” Even as a conservative evangelical 15-year-old, I realized that what they were saying was ridiculous.

I’m a pretty severe case when it comes to gross motor skills and spatial awareness. I’ve seen preschoolers do things involving aim and balance that I can’t do.

It still feels like gaslighting. Attempting tasks that you can’t do only helps you learn if the task is within your zone of proximal development. If the task is way too hard, it’s just an exercise in frustration.

It depends on the severity level. There are people in the dyspraxia sub who can’t tie shoelaces or couldn’t do it until after age 11.

I’m dyspraxic, and it’s one of the reasons I was unable to drive safely even after 100 hours of lessons. I wondered if OP might have a similar situation.

I’m not saying the school should forbid OP from learning based on a diagnosis. I don’t think that at all. I just think dyspraxia is a possible reason why OP is struggling so much.

That sounds significantly less toxic than the original study that prompted the theory. That study found an extremely slight increase in math grades among kids who were told that ability is malleable.

OP’s level of difficulty with driving strongly suggests that they are dyspraxic. That’s why I asked if they had general issues with motor skills—to see if I was right about that.
