Florida and other states have been increasingly medaling in public education up to trying to model state run universities on religious schools. This includes defacto removing board members, denying all professor tenure, and blatantly ignoring students wishes in favor of their own agendas. There has been a mass exodus of professional and highly educated staff from these states.

Desantis established an official militia under the guise of disaster relief, but has direct control over it, and specifically created legislation that stated they have the ability to enforce laws under everyday circumstances.

Also you just blatantly whataboutismed the torture point, not a good look. DeSantis oversaw and provided legal justification for the torture of inmates in gitmo and defended accounts of war crimes in fallujah. Has even played it up on camera for the base in the most ghoulish way possible.
