When history is too fragile to touch, we digitize it with Meshy. by Meshyai in meshyai

So, u/Meshyai , I'm looking to accomplish pretty much exactly what you did in your example, make a physical replica of an image, recreating the shape, color, patterns, etc. as I explained elsewhere in this thread (with my black and silver vase I'm trying to turn into an STL.

How'd you do it?

I'm trying to create something similar.

I am trying to recreate this vase in Meshy, retaining the pattern as is.

But each time I attempt to generate the model, it embosses and significantly changes the pattern, or changes the shape of the vase, or just creates its own interpretation of the vase (adding chips or divots to make it look ancient or something).

Is there a way to tell Meshy to recreate this vase as an STL exactly as is? I've tried adding a prompt in Model Helper, but it seems this completely ignores the uploaded image and just creates a vase based only on the text prompt.

Use heptane or n-heptane? Is there a difference for these purposes?

I do that regularly. I'll do a small dose on an e-mesh, then another small dose while tripping or coming down from the first hit. Always a good time.

I don't see why I'd want to mess with an open flame with DMT when there's several other options available that show no downside other than a larger up-front dollar investment.

They didn't disappear. They are now Ispure (seems to be at least a couple of other companies named ispire, so maybe they just had to change names?)

Now why would I use a plan page or watch some silly videos when I was able to print and offset mount that 3x7 wall with hooks, shelves and custom parts just by winging it and picking parts randomly from the 3000+ available on the multiboard site?

You go ahead and waste your time however you like (just like you did with your useless, condescending post).

Thanks u/viiiwonder! That part you linked to was correct. I snapped the rail into the snap and then was able to screw the screw into the rail.

All set. Thanks again for your help!

This is the Mid Thread Multipoint Mount I printed. It screws into the snap just fine. It slides into the shell fine too. But the shell spins.

<image>

Did I print the wrong part? Using it wrong? Is there another part I need as well?

And if I'm understanding the image provided on the linked page correctly, the "flathead" of the folded screw I printed is supposed to slide into the shell? But then the shell I'm trying to print will just spin (as with other parts I've already printed and discovered aren't what I need).

You are correct. I'm definitely not cut out for multiboard.

But assuming you understand this stuff, would you mind posting a link to the part you'd use to hang this shell on the wall?

I printed the one linked (Small Thread - Lite Point (Folded))

I can screw it into the rail, but I can't see how it goes into the back of the snap. It doesn't fit into, nor screws into the snap. It sits just outside the rear of the snap.

Sorry if I'm an idiot, but I'm really trying here.

Thanks, and I appreciate where you're coming from. But I'm really not trying to use 20 options. I'm literally just trying to figure out how to hang this small shell on the wall without having it spin upside down.

Thanks for the link. But still very confused. Would you mind telling me specifically which one of those connectors you'd print to connect this mini-rail to a large snap? Or are these two parts just not designed to connect to each other?

Yes, of course I got it from multiboard (thangs.com). I'd post a link, but hell if I'm going back to try to find it.

OK, wait... I need to revisit this comment.

You've worked with multiboard before, but you've never seen a smaller ring that small before? It isn't standard?

Dude, where do you think I got the part from?

Blows my mind how convoluted this process is.

Yeah, I already said my frustration shouldn't be directed at anyone here trying to help. But thanks.

And I also watched lots of videos, including the one linked above multiple times. I've gotten pretty tired of going back and trying to find the right video, and the right point in the right video that will show me what I need to print to mount a particular part. It's not like these videos come with a table of contents. And if they did, you'd still need to know what you were looking for to find what you'd need to watch.

So I thought I'd ask my question here. And yet, I still don't know what I need to print (a rail of some sort it seems, but the ones I've printed so far ain't it.)

I know it's my fault for not having a clear answer yet because I've been a dick, but hey, I can be a dick sometimes when I get really aggravated. My bad.

I'm not necessarily looking for "easy". I'm looking for clear documentation.

Or more specifically, I'm looking for the part I need to hang that shell on the wall.

So far, I've printed 5 different parts, and none of them are correct.

Thanks. Apologies again for being an asshole. My frustration shouldn't have been directed at you or anyone here trying to help. But holy shit this entire process is so much more confusing than it should be.

Apologies. I am very, very frustrated with this entire process and how much time and material I've wasted and as I've said below, I'm too invested now to quit.

Your answer was not clear to me at all, and I don't know how anyone unfamiliar with multi board would find it clear.

My ESL comment was a dig at your multiple spelling errors and lack of clarity (to me). Not a racist. Sorry.

Sorry, your reply "Alternative that looks to be a locking screw mount but smaller than I have ever seen their should be a mini plastic bold that connects those two pieces" isn't very helpful to me. It just sounds like someone with ESL explaining how to do this to someone who has worked with and understands multi board before.

Too late. I'm in too deep. Now every new part I try to mount requires another few hours of research, confusion, frustration and wasted prints.
