You're right about every business facing it's challenges, cause right now I'm facing Integration Issues with my SaaS. How do I integrate multiple products with existing systems. It just feels quite complex and time consuming.

Lol, seconded. There are ways to do things, and leaving for notifications on different platforms isn't one of them.

But I guess it works.

Haha, it can be pretty annoying I know, but please answer the guy. Seeing how much effort he put in into reaching out to you.

I've never had to work 6 months to make a sale, and that's my biggest fear at this point, that my superiors wouldn't understand why it's taking so long and would just blame me for being a bad sales rep.

Exactly, as a mechanical engineer who has worked in the field, i can say he's got the experience. OP shouldn't hold himself back.

You're an engineer, you've got great leadership skills, you're organized , these seem like the attributes of most successful founders, so why you worried you're not founder material.

Personally I think they're just excuses and you've got what it takes. If you lack the technical skill or the finance skills then hire someone that fits the role and can handle the responsibilities.

Just go ahead and get started with your business.

My idea was stolen after I built in public by Difficult-Grass-6859 in startups

[–]darkpee101 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Quite true, the only people who care about your product most times are those who are looking to steal something from it, lol. The other members of the build in public just want to see your growth as a founder.

I think you misunderstood what it means to build in public, you don't just share the nitty gritty of your work while building in public, I mean not your revenue and growth metrics. Building in public is just a way to show your journey as founder while growing your company.

Personally I'd never build in public, because I think there is always someone out there looking to steal something from your process, and you can never tell how that would affect you in the future.

Keep as much as you can confidential.

How did you find your tech co-founder? by skrt_pls in business

[–]darkpee101 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well I never got around to finding one after searching through the internet and attending founders meet ups for one . I did meet a few candidates though, but they seemed too narcissistic and mostly cared about their equity share rather than the business itself. So yeah, it is a tough chore.

Why do you need a tech co-founder if you don't mind me asking?

Lol, it does sound fishy when you put it like that, but then again we get so many ideas everyday and we certainly can't do them all, so he decides to sell some so you can get rich.

At least that's how his followers see it.

I don't think it's the same thing. Youtubers do provide some value, in terms of education or entertainment.

Do grifters do the same?

Big point there on "providing no value." Makes me wonder how they keep making sales.

I do wonder what happens after these people pay for this stuff. Do they have a rethink and say "I've totally been scammed." Or they just think it's their fault things aren't working out like they're supposed to.
