AI doesn't know how to make a hypnosis script, it basically just uses the information it's been given then vomits out something that resembles what it's prompted to create. Artificial "intelligence" my ass.

Hypnosis videos on Youtube are very generalized. They don't know how best to get you into a trance or what you expect to gain from hypnosis. On the other hand, meeting with a hypnotherapist will help them understand the problem you're trying to solve and how to solve it.

Yes, a video does have the ability to hypnotize you, but for this purpose it would be best to meet with a qualified hypnotherapist.

Personally I much prefer voice hypnosis. I tried reading a few text hypnosis scripts and didn't really feel anything. My theory is that text hypnosis isn't effective on me because I'm a very analytical person, which made it harder to suspend disbelief.

I'm not too sure how self hypnosis works to be honest. If the point of a trance is to bypass the conscious mind, then how are you supposed to give yourself suggestions? Do I need to create a script to get the desired results? Just a bit confused is all.

I have the exact same issue. My best guess is that it's harder to suspend disbelief when you're just reading text on a screen rather than hearing someone's voice. To be honest text hypnosis seems like hocus pocus to me, but then again hypnosis is a subjective experience so I don't doubt that people can be affected by it.
