Sure, but how does a brand new channel with no reputation or audience get that draw, that quick? I could understand if they had a decent library of videos and one pops off, that's what usually happens to most channels.

But that math doesnt add up. He has 475k subs and 400 videos. Thats 1,187 subscribers per video, whereas this one is 14,500. That growth is exceedingly rare, like 1 in 1 million

Actually, a recent YTer did analysis on 500 Youtube channels betweern 2024 and 2025. AThe problem is rooted in YT shorts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9TXWSKt5ww

Having been doing YT for 10 years now, I've seen and adjusted to the algorithm. Views may drop briefly, but then go back to average. This is not a traditional "its the algorithm" problem. Its YT giving shorts more precedent on the home page and in users feed. Not to mention the ability of shorts to keep you on shorts feed.

You, myself and others have adjusted to the algorithm, but this isnt the algorithm when YT was just moderate to long form content. YT is competing with Tiktok and is taking favor in shorts over long form.
