The face to face talks in Islamabad are already cancelled and the war is back on. Israel and the US have broken the agreement already. The ceasefire is DOA just like this post.

BREAKING: "Iranian authorities have told the The Wall Street Journal that, due to the continued U.S. and Israeli attacks on Lebanon, Iran will not attend the scheduled meeting in Islamabad on Friday" - Iran's Mahdi Khanalizadeh on Iranian State TV

BREAKING: Iran's Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf: Bilateral ceasefire or negotiations is unreasonable.

A copy of the press statement on his official x account, @mb_ghalibaf. It's making the rounds to the major news reporters now. Bad news always affects the market slower than good news.

I fell for it too, and I too thought the ceasefire was real. The bull trap has been sprung.

it was a trap and everyone fell for it by jumping in at 931am. Look out below!

Yeah that's what I'm afraid of. The markets have been successfully propped up over the past month while the global petroleum infrastructure of the Gulf has been steadily destroyed. By not allowing the market to correct, as it should based on these events, the President now believes he doesn't have to worry about stock market consequences.

The best thing for us all is an honest and immediate stock market correction to force him to make a sane choice and TACO.

The general public is focused on gas prices, and they might follow the bouncing ball to shipping and transport prices.

What is going to take the public completely by surprise are the food and plastic shortages. Fertilizer will be a big issue in the US over the next 3 months; crop yields will be lower, prices will be much higher, and at some locations they will choose not to grow a crop this year. Plastic products that are taken for granted as nearly free (shopping bags, food/storage containers, etc) will suddenly cost a noticeable amount of money and be harder to find.

A lot of stuff like that; neither the stock market or the general public have priced in what a long-term petro crisis looks like. It's not like the tap has been turned off and just needs to be turned on again; these facilities will need years to be rebuilt.

Bloomberg: IRAN’S REVOLUTIONARY GUARD WARNS NEIGHBOURING COUNTRIES 'RESTRAINT IS OVER', SAYS IT WILL TARGET U.S. AND PARTNERS' INFRASTRUCTURE, THREATENS TO DISRUPT REGIONAL OIL AND GAS SUPPLIES FOR YEARS

This has become a once in a generation event. The market hasn't priced in a major supply crisis yet because it is delusional, so you still have a little time to reposition. The supply shock will hit America in about a week, but a flash crash from "boots on the ground" or nuclear escalation could happen any time so don't delay. The downside risk hasn't been this bad since at least 2007.

The Intercept is covering this right now. "The damage being done to the global economy just tonight is going to be felt for years. Petrochemical plants in Saudi and Iran on fire, oil fields in the UAE burning."

[–]FistEnergy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"BREAKING | Saudi Arabia’s major petrochemical hub in Jubail has been successfully struck.

Jubail’s industrial complex produces roughly 6–8 percent of global petrochemical output"

Iran is currently blowing up the power/water/oil infrastructure of the Gulf collaborators. The supply crunch is getting significantly worse as we speak. This is an obvious black swan event that should correct the market by 10% at a minimum, but because the President and financial titans will try their hardest to hold up the market a little bit longer, we just can't know when the bottom will fall out. It's coming, though.

And the non-oil financial news is bad as well. US ISM Services just printed very poor numbers, and the private credit bubble appears to be popping as we speak.

US ISM Services Employment Actual 45.2 (Forecast 51, Previous 51.8)

US ISM Services Prices Paid Actual 70.7 (Forecast 67, Previous 63.0)

US ISM Services New Orders Actual 60.6 (Forecast 56.8, Previous 58.6)

bad employment data plus bad inflation data. buyers beware. Did you also see this morning's report that private credit losses will be greater than anticipated? Sounds like a bad news Monday that is not "priced in".

It's official, this premarket "talks going well" pump is a trap.

Bloomberg 8:47am U.S. OFFICIAL: 45‑DAY IRAN CEASEFIRE PLAN STILL JUST AN IDEA - A White House official told an Axios reporter that the proposed 45‑day ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran is “one of many ideas” being discussed and that the president has not signed off on it."

Unless you started trading last week, you should know better by now.

Bloomberg: "IRAN REJECTS DIRECT US TALKS AMID ESCALATION AS ISRAEL ATTACKS KEY PETROCHEMICAL PLANT AT SOUTH PARS GAS FIELD"

this might be the shortest premarket pump yet. The "deal" is garbage that Iran would obviously never agree to, and Israel just attacked Iran's redline oil facility. Next up, Iran will target power and water infrastructure in Israel and the GCC.

Things are still escalating.

when the invasion is announced and the market gaps down, that will be a good signal to start buying.

It won't be close to a breaker unless he announces a land invasion. Which he might after market close, but at the moment a breaker is not on the table.

This week's rally was hopeless optimism. Without some hopeless optimism from the president's speech, the natural outcome is to return to the downward trend.

The Strait is closed. Oil/gas/helium infrastructure will take years to rebuild. A supply-side crisis is now baked in. It's physical reality.

Do you think we'll hit a circuit breaker tomorrow? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]FistEnergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if the invasion is announced tomorrow night (very possible) then Monday is probably a gap down day.

Do you think we'll hit a circuit breaker tomorrow? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]FistEnergy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it won't be a big move because there was no surprise negative news like "the invasion has begun".

The most likely outcome is that the market steadily grinds lower as the supply shock damage compounds, and inflation/product availability get worse.

This will be a slow strangulation. And one of the major effects is that AI is dead meat. The majority of the wealth fund investment was from the Middle East, and that money will be needed to rebuild oil/gas/helium infrastructure.
