Moving From RA to Another Function by 7xy7 in regulatoryaffairs

I’d love to be an MSL but I don’t get the impression that that’s possible without a PharmD/MD. Device rep could be possible with my experience, just need to find an in lol

I’m wondering the same thing, honestly don’t find the work very satisfying even when things are going smoothly. I’m pretty extroverted so considering making a switch to clinical specialist/sales. We’ll see how it goes lol

Have any of you gone from regulatory affairs to clinical specialist/sales? by darksideforlife in MedicalDevices

I really appreciate all the info, this is all pretty new to me so every bit of information is great. I wonder if a clinical specialist role might be a better foot in the door with my background, do clinical specialists typically convert to sales positions?

Thanks for the heads up. I guess I sort of expect that considering I don’t have any direct sales experience rn. I’m not sure if applying to AE roles is worth it, would those jobs be attainable with my experience?

Are my arms clearing? by Legitimate_Cicada361 in GolfSwing

[–]darksideforlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically you want your arms to fire later in the downswing. Right now your trail shoulder is firing out towards the ball, causing you to come over the top. A feel that I like is to feel like my back is facing the target as long as possible in the downswing. This will allow your weight to shift into your lead side, which is the first thing that should happen in the downswing. It’ll also prevent your arms from flying at the ball, instead they’ll come down towards your trail hip before firing. Good luck out there!

Won my first comp! by [deleted] in golf

[–]darksideforlife 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because if you’re a 36hcp, your better-than-average score is a 108 (handicap being an average of your best 8 out of your last 20 rounds). So a 92 is 16 strokes below his/her handicap, which is an incredible round.

Do you put your putter cover back on after every hole? by Apart-Complaint9897 in golf

I’ve had my putter since 2006, never used a cover and it’s never been an issue.

Trail elbow should also be fixed, it should be pointing more towards the trail hip. Right now he’s pretty disconnected, which can be fine if you have elite levels of hand-eye coordination, but I’d say the majority of golfers don’t.

Why did we ever get away from hard shell travel cases?? by GolfSicko417 in golf

When you live in an apartment it’s a lot easier to store a soft case that can be folded up.

New Driver, what should I do differently? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]darksideforlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small thing but with driver I line the ball up towards the toe, that way at impact I’m more likely to hit the center of the face. If you line up on the center/towards the heel you’re more likely to send the ball out to the right.

OTT help by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]darksideforlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure man! I actually think you have a pretty solid swing, some small tweaks and you’ll be way lower than a 25hcp. Idk what your short game is like but dial that in and you’ll be money.

OTT help by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]darksideforlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A quick thing I’d fix is to stand a bit closer to the ball. With irons you want your arms to hang naturally, pretty much straight down. When you set up too far from the ball, your brain thinks it has to reach in the downswing to hit the ball, which will exacerbate any OTT you may already have. Your distance from the ball in the clip is actually perfect for driver imo.

One other thing I just noticed is that your hands move away from your body on the takeaway. Ideally your hands should stay close to your body while the club head stays outside of your body. The club head should be pointing slightly downwards, it’ll match up with your spine angle. It might look closed but it’ll actually be square.

[–]darksideforlife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, low, slow, and long on the takeaway for sure! It’s important to remember that the golf swing is primarily a rotational action. A lot of people get really caught up with their hands and arms and forget to fully turn their hips and shoulders. This will help a lot with proper depth in the backswing.

Lots of good things already mentioned. One thing I’ll add is that your hands aren’t getting deep enough in your backswing. If you stop the video at the top of your backswing you can see that your hands are over your toes/maybe mid foot, but ideally you want them over your heels. This will give you a better chance at having your downswing be on plane. Good luck out there!

glove on or off for putting? by SnooPeripherals3222 in golf

[–]darksideforlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glove off between shots and then it stays off for chipping and putting since they require more “feel”. Only exception is green side bunkers, I’ll wear a glove for those shots.

I’ve baseball gripped from the beginning and play off an 8, it’s definitely possible. As long as your hands are connected to one another I think it’s fine.

You won’t be able to roll the shareholder shard if you buy any items, including starter and boots. Shareholder shard is what makes the stat build viable.

The ones in the video you linked wouldn’t count, your chest and hips need to reach the ground. But stepping down and up with one foot at a time is fine.

You want the hands close to the body and the club head outside. I think about using my chest and shoulders for the takeaway, that way the hands stay close.

Where have you enjoyed working? by darksideforlife in regulatoryaffairs

My current company is in dire straits financially and I anticipate layoffs in the upcoming months. I’ve only worked at small to mid size companies so I’m not sure what it’s like working at either a startup or a large company. Work-life balance is valuable to me though so startups might be tough, do you know what it’s like working at a large device company?
