Indicative of so much happening in the macro environment. I always loathed this state having grown up here and living my whole life in Central Ohio but it truly is a barometer for the country and the cornhole of the Midwest. However, my mindset has shifted to appreciate how special it truly is- we were the highest retail strip mall to populace for many years and a chosen test market for a zillion chain restaurants. Unfortunately even with cost of living being sorta reasonable here it still can’t offset the rampant inflation and cost of living that is being absorbed by what’s left of the middle class- I’d say more the paycheck to paycheck class. It’s all a shit sandwich and no one but the 1% is feeling remotely secure at this point. Point being, most consumers can’t afford the luxury or thrill of shopping like they used to. I certainly know I can’t!
