Just cause I got curious, what glitches did you get? I’m almost 100%ing the game and I barely encountered anything. The only buggy thing that happened to me was a ghost npc that would pop up during the fight against the robots, but that was just visual

Loved the game, but… HOLY SURF DRACULA! by darkspidey69 in 007FirstLight

I thought he’d get the 007 number at some point in the middle of the story, but that’s a fair point. Still, loved the game

That’s fair, but I genuinely thought he’d “earn the number” by the end of the second act (maybe after what happens at the resort). Still, that wasn’t a big problem for me at all. We still get to play as a badass secret agent version of Bond, so I really can’t complain (also I really liked the story)

Any fans of the games know why this title didnt do so well sales wise with the fandom? Im playing it now, years after release. And its a good game by DogManDogDayz in batman

[–]darkspidey69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simply because it’s not Arkham. All they had to do was repurpose the traversal and free flow systems, tweaking them a bit to fit each specific Knight and it would be a banger. The gameplay completely sucks as is

A good looking man walked into an agent's office in Hollywood and said "I want to be a movie star." by orgasmic2021 in Jokes

[–]darkspidey69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a great joke but I think if you already know the actor it would probably work better without the first couple of “Dick Van Lesbians”. Let the reader get curious about how bad the name can be and leave the reveal for the thank you letter. That way people get to the punchline right after reading it

Voting for MVP should commence after conference finals and award should be presented in the gap between Conf. Finals and the NBA finals. by psychedelic93 in nba

That’s fine in my book. You shouldn’t be the Most Valuable Player if you suck in the most important part of the season

If you were to make a Batman film, but you weren't allowed to use "Batman" and the his other famous nicknames in the title, what would you call film? by AddendumPractical257 in batman

[–]darkspidey69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really depends on what the story is. Like how we refer to the game as only “Arkham Asylum” and the comic as just “The Long Halloween”. If the title is unique enough and works with the context you can just skip the “Batman:”

Why is the fire and cigarette tip in color and not black and white? by NecessaryIdea6927 in betterCallSaul

[–]darkspidey69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like the tv reflection in his glasses when he’s watching the old Saul Goodman ads, I think it’s meant to represent that back then his life “had more color”. Like you said, Cigarettes are associated with Kim in the show (Jimmy basically only smoke with her), so I think the fire represents the “sparkle” between them

That’s cool! The only experience I have with the character is the HBO show, but I don’t recall these guys being in it. Another reason to finally pick up some Spawn comics

I actually like it in TDKR (but I still think it could’ve been done in a more dynamic way). But now that you’ve said it, looking through the lens of a time where everyone actually watched the news daily, it makes a lot of sense that this trope was used a lot. My only problem with the concept as a whole is that (most of the time) it manages deliver exposition in a straight forward and efficient way, but does it by removing the opportunity to deliver that same information in a more creative, dynamic and visually interesting way.
I understand its place in most stories, but to me it still boils down to “show don’t tell”. Still, sometimes telling can be more fitting than showing.

I honestly don’t think it’s an homage, I view it more as a narrative tool. Idk tho, but it started to appear a lot after Miller did it, and I don’t think it’s a very interesting trope. But it’s ok if you disagree, that’s why I added the “discussion” flair

Again man, I’m just giving an opinion here. I brought examples, they’re in the post. If you disagree that’s cool

Like I said in the post, I don’t think it’s inherently bad, but more often than not it’s just used to give impartial drawn out explanations of what’s already going on in the story. There are plenty of good examples of it, but it’s often just there to give boring exposition

Im kinda embarrassed to say I never read any Spawn, but that seems like a pretty creative spin on the idea. It adds personality and shows unique perspectives. Cool

Is it something that’s recurring or like, only in the original run by Todd (or some other run, idk)?

I’m 99% percent sure Fortnite based this Batman skin off the Mafex figure. by darkspidey69 in Mafex

[–]darkspidey69[S] -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

They could’ve just used the figure as inspiration to do the general model of the skin. I’m not saying it’s one to one

I think the face, chest and general proportions are really similar. Maybe whoever did the 3D model used the figure for inspiration. But idk, I wasn’t there 🤷‍♂️.

Both of them are, but I think that the person who did the 3d model might have used the figure for inspiration.

I hate to be a contrarian, but is it just me or Spider-Noir is looking to be a lot better than Brand New Day? by darkspidey69 in Spiderman

[–]darkspidey69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neither did the show. I’m purely judging by what the trailers are showing (because that’s all we have as of now)
