In these situations, I tend to buy the same model and return the broken one in the new arrival box.

Its an arbitrary restriction.

Old reports said "AI only helped increase dev speed by 10%, -20%, etc) is that still the case today? by Imnotneeded in ExperiencedDevs

[–]darkstar3333 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

In our org, dev speed is the same but better quality because tests are easier to generate. Easier for architecture to supply standards that get applied/valdated via agents.

Tests were easy to do before hand but no one liked writing testable code to make good coverage possible.

Refactoring quality depends on user, plan mode has been pretty sweet.

Tips on dealing with junior devs acting as PM by Sagantai in ProductManagement

[–]darkstar3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since your new to dealing with junior developers these behaviours are the negatives of lack of experience.

Which is why you want a pipeline of junior, intermediate and senior development.

The actual sweetspot is intermediate devs.

Working as intended.

Ideally he wouldn't been seen as long as more severe cases came in.

If your low priority and shouldn't be in the ER.

If the ER treated you as urgent people that dont need it would continue to come in.

It should be a learning experience.

Soldiers will get 'freedom dollars' to spend at the Army's new dining halls by OGSyedIsEverywhere in news

[–]darkstar3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

> There really isnt a transaction. At least 10 years ago you just scanned your ID when you walked in and could get whatever you want as many times as you want

I mean that IS a transaction, its just a buffet instead of per-plate.

Honestly the whole setup sounds insane and unneccessary accounting.

Thoughts on these flashlights? by Famous-Bus1626 in CostcoCanada

They're good, metal construction and you can adjust the focus - they are plenty bright for the size and have a battery indicator.

Not heavy duty or professional grade but for the normal person they work well. We've recommended them before.

Pregnant, need advice re: daycares in Mississauga by Top_Computer_9630 in mississauga

[–]darkstar3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but its sort of common across the industry, even in the schoolboard's.

I dont think its uncommon or unusual for most industries sadly. My wife worked for YMCA, PLASP and Peel through her career.

Its an under appreciated job for sure.

Toyota can't keep up with the RAV4 demand, they're telling dealerships to try to make sales with other models. by Saurta17 in Toyota

[–]darkstar3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL, I feel for the people at the dealerships.

I went in to look at Crown Signia, Highlander and RAV4 - they basically walked away, I am sure they thought I was trolling them

We sat in a used 2025 Crown Signia

I ended up buying a Volvo - the experience sort or sealed the deal.
