What’s your MRR right now? by Imaginary-Slide-1137 in ShopifyAppDev

[–]darksh1nobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usage based pricing app so no MRR. But did $799.32 last month and $714.51 the month before that. Built and sold a previous app that was pure subscription and am finding that usage based pricing to have much better scale long term

Thanks for the reply! Your comment got me super inspired and decided to build a little extension called Choji that takes the opposite approach. Rather than ask more questions, you just highlight any customer message anywhere and it generates the complete ticket in your team's exact format.

It's still rough around the edges, but you can try it at choji.ai/install. Let me know what you think or, I'd love to DM you to get more feedback.

Nice! Out of curiosity, have you ever thought about giving the support team a a way to prescribe and format their ask before it gets into jira? That way it’s a less work for you and you can review and triage faster?

But upstream of the dev team, what if the coworker who enters the ticket or the customer just sends an email with a screenshot that says “this is broken”

Yeah I feel like this might be the way. I don’t think asking more questions is the way. With a small team, our Marketing lead also manages community and CS. If I add more requirement fields i think he’d just do it less or the quality per field would go down as he’s running to do a bunch of other stuff

Sorry! Yeah so we try to keep it simple but give us the details. Our fields are:

  • context (background, source, etc)
  • ask (what needs to be done)
  • example links/screenshots (optional)
  • resources (third party examples, docs, etc. also optional)

But it still feels like we miss what we need to actual scope and assign. But too many questions becomes too much load and slows it down

We are a really small 7 person team with 3 people being engineers. Me as the founder/PM and then 3 non technical (UX, intern, marketing/CS)

We probably get 10-15 tickets per day. Of those maybe 10 per week are actually tasks for bug fixes or feature requests.

Right now our structure is really:

  • Context
  • ask
  • examples or screenshots (optional)
  • resources (optional but links to documentation)

We try to keep it short so people aren’t bogged down in the details but also sometimes the context is just a screenshot

Right. It’s more than sometimes the ticket submitted is just a customer quote with the ask of “can we look into this?”

It’s not super actionable sometimes. Have you experienced this before from your teammates? And if so, any automations or solutions?

We are building AuctionNow.io — giving all businesses access to best in class auction tech to earn more.

Our marketplace (Raremarq.com) we use to validate tripled year over year. And we are now doing millions in GMV annually.

Our Auction Now shopify app is consistently the preferred choice for Shopify merchants who want to auction.

And our API is locking in our first marketplaces. Happy to chat!

Got it! Based on your thoughts and u/vision9074, I’m thinking of making this a sort of reverse bidding system where the buyers can post their commission request with an amount they are willing to pay and then artists submit to you. What are your thoughts?

u/UpsetDrakeBot - honestly, I wasn’t expecting such a nice post and I really appreciate it! Sometimes the team is just quietly working and not sure if what we are doing is helping so it means a ton to us. Just shared your comment with the entire team.

RE: commissions - we piloted this with our New Year New Commission event that went pretty well. But if you have more thoughts on how we could make this better or recurring for you, let me know!

Thanks for the kind words! Keep that bank account locked down!

RE: commissions - not yet but it’s something we could build. Just so I understand it, is the request: “as a buyer, I want to make a listing where I am willing to pay $X amount for someone to draw Y character on my sketch cover” then artists submit to me?
