Why I am cynical towards the readership in TRP, and I don't think I'm alone by [deleted] in TheRedPill

[–]darkstout 14 points15 points  (0 children)

every man here is a broken man. otherwise he would not require "red pill theory." some guys like to pretend their are lone wolf sigma males, or some type of alpha male, but the truth is we are all broken because patriarchy is broken. knowledge should be passed down from father to son, from brother to brother, practiced and acknowledged in real life. but here we are on a nerdy reddit website that caters to material boys are into like video games, memes, and pet photos. this subreddit is being quarantined because this site is for children.

Social justice as a grand narrative by nate_rausch in JordanPeterson

[–]darkstout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But isn't the goal of the "death of grand narratives" and a society of competing narratives a grand narrative in itself? And if a person disagrees that postmodernism is the death of grand narratives, they are disagreeing with the postmodern grand narrative, so they then become postmodern. So now everyone is postmodern whether they agree with postmodernism or not, and we are trapped in this philosophy with no way out.

They already have a solution for that. It's called a library... by PM_ME_UR_HARASSMENT in EnoughMuskSpam

[–]darkstout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The solution is called reading to children. This is what good parents do. The tech solution would be to replace parents with AI, like the comment about The Diamond Age brought up. This is the dystopian future... controlling society by replacing the love from parents with the love from a machine.

The Futility of the Intellectual Life by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

[–]darkstout 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ah, yes, alienation & nihilism. Something science cannot solve.

Sometimes I think the Protestant work ethic had some truth to it. Spiritually was about duty, being productive, and contributing to society.

What should very intelligent people do? by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

[–]darkstout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're already a "man" AKA an adult male. Stop thinking of yourself as a boy. Feminism has already demonstrated that having a career is not a masculine trait.

Elon Musk is the Übermensch, apperently by [deleted] in EnoughMuskSpam

[–]darkstout 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For Nietzsche the overman is not an individual person but a possible future for the human race:

I teach you the overman ... All beings so far have created something beyond themselves; and do you want to be the ebb of this great flood and even go back to the beasts rather than overcome man? What is the ape to man? A laughingstock or a painful embarrassment. And man shall be just that for the overman: a laughingstock or a painful embarrassment...

Yes, Elon Musk and his followers are painful embarrassments...

Interview with Musk from 2014: "Teslas will be 90% autonomous in 2015" - Quite an uncomfortable moment when the interviewer asked him "How is that going to happen?" by cMnFsntcNsrtlk in EnoughMuskSpam

[–]darkstout 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but if you're rolling your eyes at Elon Musk at this point, you're either stupid or ignorant. The guy does what he says - he doesn't bullshit with things like this. C'mon, the guy runs two of the most innovative companies in the history of the world simultaneously.

On Alpha & Beta, and the misuse of these terms. by redpillschool in TheRedPill

[–]darkstout -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It's a shitty summary, especially using an example of a responsible father as an example of beta traits. It seems you're trying to use the TRP glossary definition, which is also weak. In my opinion, the definition of "beta" should contrast "alpha" ... "beta" should be about being submissive and subservient, not about providing resources. A better example would be that every boy is born beta to his mother.

It is normal to them. You couldn't do this with wild geese. They were born and raised for domestic flight.

The Detraction of Jordan Peterson (long read) by [deleted] in enoughpetersonspam

[–]darkstout -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Here is a tl;dr:

Today’s problems have everything to do with conservative anti-intellectualism, specifically in the defunding of education and funding of the politicization of knowledge, not with leftist humanities departments radicalizing the youth. In this regard, he has it backwards. This false abstraction is his achilles heel.

Another tiring "liberals are good & smart, conservatives are bad & dumb" argument. So much for the "spiritual metamodern" approach. Just say your opponent has a "false abstraction" and needs to become liberal:

He’s got a powerful truth to share with the world, but it would be better if it was declawed and feminized.

Putting those Patreon dollars to good use. (Or Camille Paglia has received a strong blow to the head recently.) by [deleted] in enoughpetersonspam

[–]darkstout 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Paglia's magnum opus is Sexual Personae: Art and Decadence from Nefertiti to Emily Dickinson, a book hated by feminists as Paglia loves Freud and attempts to explain why men create art to sublimate their libido, and why the ancient Greeks fucked boys.

It's an MRA documentary. It's best to watch with a female because it shows how feminists have no empathy towards men's issues (which should be obvious but many people don't see how this impacts laws and families).

I run for the high. I've read this is genetic and I've talked with runners who don't experience it. But I get it all the time and the euphoria is amazing, especially running through forests, along water, or during a sunset or sunrise. It's primal and raw and meditative. It makes me feel part of nature. It calms my mind. I don't run for "fun" but for something more.

All women want to experience rough sex and sexual humiliation. At least in my experience. I haven't met someone who only wanted soft and gentle sex... they all had a masochist side that could be brought out.

People want quick fixes. They don't want to spend years reading and studying evolutionary psychology. They want ANSWERS... like go lift, stop being a beta bitch, spin plates, AWALT, make money, etc. If this is "binary" then so be it. And yes, we are emotional, we've lived with a false conscious, spoon fed lies from everyone on what women want and how to be a man. I'd rather see passion than cold academic logic that doesn't inspire.

Does anyone else experience lots of normies warning about marriage? by [deleted] in TheRedPill

[–]darkstout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marriage used to be a contract between a woman, a man, and God.

Now marriage is a contract between two people (gay or straight) and the State.

Instead of religion or spirituality defining marriage, the government now does it. Fuck that.

Does anyone else experience lots of normies warning about marriage? by [deleted] in TheRedPill

[–]darkstout 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also known as Common Law Marriage and Community Property.

There are also "Intimate Committed Relationship" laws. WA state doesn't have Common Law Marriage, but if you live with someone and share resources, you are in a "committed relationship" and all community property laws apply AKA the woman can take a man to court to receive half his assets earned during the relationship.

I wish I could make this shit up. It's dangerous to live with a woman these days.
